CS ideas for seafood?

My DS due to allergies can't have the hamburgers, hotdogs, pizza, mac & cheese, or chicken nuggets on all the kids menus. (I know.. most young kids favorite foods.) He has 30 allergies (which include most meats, milk, and soy), and I need help finding CS that he can eat. I have already emailed special diets for some ideas, but wanted to see if Disers had any ideas too. We will spend most of our time at MK and Hollywood, but I know that I may have to leave to go get him something to eat with his CS credits for lunch. I have no problem leaving the park we are at if I need to to go get him something to eat somewhere else. We can park hop with the tickets my CM cousin gets us. I am open for CS in resorts too, we are staying at POP. We have ADR's for Boma, Cape May, Kona Cafe, and Maya. They all have some type of seafood, and that is why we picked those places for dinner. I know Yorkshire Fish Shop in Epcot and Harbor House in MK, both have CS seafood. I know on allears and on the disboard there are menus for TS (that's how we choose our TS), but are there full menus for CS anywhere out there?


Edit: I figured out how to look at CS menus, but still need ideas on places with seafood so I can look up the menus.

At Cosmic Ray's does the Half Chicken & BBQ Rib Combo for $14.19 count as a CS credit? That sounds yummy to me, but I don't know if I can eat all of it. Same for TS, does all Entrees (not including the 2 TS credits places like dinner shows) count as 1 TS credit? I.E. the Steak & Catch at the Maya Grill or is the price limit you have to stick to? I have never done the dining plan before, and I don't want any surprises when I get there. I got a great deal with it that CM's families get right now, so I am excited about it. No more packing sammies for the park!

The ABC Commissary at HS serves the same fish and fries basket that you can get at Columbia Harbour House at MK. It is DELICIOUS!

Anyone know the resort's name that is near Epcot and has QS build your own pasta? That might work for him too, if I could find out what all they have there. Can't find out if I don't know the name of the place.

This counts for one CS meal; we get it all the time and we like it and we do share that meal sometimes.

In Epcot in World Showcase in England there's another fish eatery called Yorkshire Co. Fish shop.

The milk question may be tough to get a good answer by phone. I strongly suggest if this is an issue for you that you ask directly to speak to a manager at each location. This could take a while, too. Be prepared for an extra 15 minutes to wait for a manager. Each CS location is suppose to have a special diets expert and that's usually the manager. Anyway, there may be a way to do it differently for you right on the spot if you ask.

I don't know for sure that the fish has milk but I do know that it's not listed on the allergy attachments from Special Diets so I bet it does contain milk. I'd contact Special Diets and ask specifically about the fish. Since the breaded fish is premade, I can't imagine that they'd be able to make a different kind for you. At some TS locations they can do that sort of thing but not at CS. At CS locations you can only get whatever they have on hand prepped ahead of time. You have to wait because they don't par cook allergy foods like they do regular foods but at CS locations they do still have to work with whatever they have in their freezers premade. The exceptions are resort CS and Sunshine Seasons at Epcot.

We do seafood at TS restaurants. The only CS location we'll do any kind of seafood is Sunshine Seasons at Epcot. The salmon (it's baked or broiled I think; definitely not breaded) is free of our long list of allergens. That reminds me; I forgot to ask about the seared tuna which used to be one of my favourites. I need to do that tonight.

Yes, the chicken and rib combo should still be able to be purchased using a single CS credit. Great use of a credit and easily sharable.

Thanks for all your help. I did email Special Diets about the fish at the CS places. I am waiting on them to reply. It is going to be hard to find CS meals for him, with 30 allergies it limits what he can eat and he can't have any of the normal kids food. I figured that I will end up getting his meal at one place, and taking to the CS where we want to eat. Chef Mickey was great with him when we went there 2 years ago, and we have added more off limit foods since then. I am not too worried about TS, because I know they will be able to work with us more. I just need to find CS places for lunch. I agree that the Chicken and rib combo is a great use of credit. I am trying to stay away from the hamburgers, chicken nuggets, pizza, etc that you can get anywhere. I have learned so much on the Dis about how to get the most out of your dining plan like not using TS credits at breakfast, because that meal doesn't cost as much.

Seeing your post on the DDP board as well as the latest update to your original post here, I have additional comments.

If there's nothing on the kids menu that he can eat at a CS location, the manager typically will allow him to order something off the adult menu. You shouldn't be restricted by that the way most people using dining plans are. The general rule about kids meals is that if there isn't a kids meal available then you're free to order anything. Back when my kids were still under 10 we encountered this several times. Managers were always great about it.

Not being able to have beef, pork, chicken, turkey, milk or soy, your protein options really are very limitted. Look through the menus and ask questions of Special Diets about specific things. I wonder what's in the tuna sandwich at Columbia Harbour House? I don't know if the bread they use for that has milk or not (I hear it's a different bread than the regular stuff) but maybe it doesn't contain any of his allergens? I bet it has some kind of mayo but you didn't list eggs as being a problem so maybe it's a soy free mayo? Anyway, I'd ask. I'd also ask about the hummus and the fried shrimp (I bet the shrimp has milk, but ask anyway). I hear there's a tasty vegetarian bean soup at Main Street Bakery. Ask Special Diets if there's any soy in it.

Pop is AMAZING when it comes to taking care of special diets. I bet they'll bread some fish or shrimp for you. Before WDW carried the allergy chicken tenders, they breaded up some yummy chicken tenders for my kids several times. They've got plenty of options for making all sorts of amazing foods for your son. When we stay there, we eat most of our CS meals there. I can't say enough good things about the chefs at Pop.

ETA: You are not restricted by price when using dining plans. If the restaurant costs 1 credit then you can order any entree on the menu for that 1 credit.

The thing about eating at resort CS is that the chefs can customize any dish they have on the menu to suit your needs. If they carry shrimp and they carry pasta, they can make you a pasta with shrimp dish. This doesn't have to be done only at the make your own pasta station. In fact, even there they won't make it at that station; they'll prepare it in the allergy area of the kitchen where they take all the extra precautions to ensure no cross contamination of allergens. I LOVE resort CS dining.
