Hi there,

We are trying to cut some costs for our next WDW trip, by eating at more CS places for lunch & dinner.

We have a few TS places that we cannot part with:
-CP breakfast
-Boma dinner
-Beaches & Cream lunch

We would like to try to do CS dinners for most of the rest of our 7 day trip.

Any suggestions for great CS dinner options in each park? Any particular meals that you recommend there? We are likely doing 2 days at MK, 2 days at Epcot, 1 day at DHS, & 1 day at DAK. The only park we wouldn't need advice for is DAK, since we are planning to eat at Boma that night.

*I also wanted to add that I am a semi-health conscious eater. Not over the top, but any places that offer turkey sandwiches, grilled chicken, salads, sushi type stuff would be great!!
Thanks! :goodvibes

I like Sunshine Seasons at The Land at Epcot. There is a pretty good variety. On our trip last Sept, I had a very good slice of pork roast with mashed red potatoes and veggies and my husband had a Cuban, I think.

I have been less than impressed with the food at DHS. We had Backlot Express last year and it was all right. Better than the Commissary - ugh.

At MK, we like Cosmic Ray's and Pecos Bill's. I especially like Pecos Bill's chicken wraps. Cosmic Ray's has several different options, including chicken, burgers, sandwiches and even kosher dishes.

Have a great trip!

Thanks! We've been thinking about Sunshine Seasons-do they really use the fresh fruits, veggies, & fish that they raise in their greenhouses?

We've never had CS at DHS-last trip we did TS for both meals & it ended up to be alot of money.
We were looking at the Pizza Planet & Starring Rolls menus-any thoughts?

I'm also wondering how far it is to just walk over to the BW for DHS dinner. Last time we went to DHS, we loved it overall, but it was a bit congested and we definately appreciated the break back at our hotel halfway through the day. I'm wondering if it would be worth it to head over to the BW for dinner before heading back for Fantasmic....

So, please include any BW area CS places!! Either on the BW or in a BW area resort.

Thanks!

We werent planning to go to DTD, but if it's not to far to travel from DHS, that might be an option for us.

You're welcome and just so you know from DHS you could take a bus to Saratgoa Springs and from there walk to Downtown Disney, or take the boats to one of the Epcot Resorts and get on the bus from there.

Columbia Harbour House in MK. Slightly different menu than Pecos Bill's or Cosmic Ray's.

We really enjoy Columbia Harbour House at Magic Kingdom fo soup and sandwich. We were also pleasantloy surprised by Pinocchio Village Haus at the Magic Kingdom last year after having not eaten there in several years. I had a great turkey panini. You cannot go wrong at Sunshine Seasons at Epcot. We really like Flame Tree Barbecue at AK. And we don't, unfortunately, like anything at the Studios.

Thanks! I've heard good things about Columbia Harbor House=is this the place with the famous tuna sandwiches?

We thought about Pinnochios when we were in WDW last time, but never made it over. Is the theming really cute? Is it impossible to get a table with a view of IASW?

We did Pizzafari last time at DAK & I loved the italian sandwich, but I'm curious about Flame Tree. Is it greasy? The only thing I would be interested in there is the chicken, but DF would be interested in a burger or ribs.

Yes, Columbia is place with famous tuna sandwiches. Yes, depending on the time you go to Pinocchio, you can get a window seat and watch the boats go by on IASW. I don't find the ribs greasy at all. I'm not sure they have chicken anymore...thought I read they got rid of that, but they have turkey. If you go to Allearsnet.com, you can find what his currently on the menu.

For CHH, the Lighthouse (hummus) sandwich looks really good too. Have you had it? Maybe DF & I will get those two sandwiches and share.

For FTB, do you know if the turkey is any good? Good quality deli meat?

DH had the Lighthouse sandwich and really enjoyed it.
As for FTB, I have never had the turkey. I am a big rib lover and always have the ribs or the pulled pork sandwich.

the Turkey on focaccia bread at Starring Rolls/DHS is very good. DD thought the grilled veggie sandwich was pretty good too.

Ooh, I'm so happy to hear a positive review for a DHS CS choice! Ok, we will look into Starring Rolls!

Ok, so far I have on our list:

MK:
-Columbia Harbor House
-Pinnochios
-Main St. Bakery

Epcot:
-Sunshine Seasons
-Tangierine Cafe

DHS:
-maybe Starring Rolls

DAK:
-Either Pizzafari or Flame Tree BBQ

Other:
-Captain Cooks at Poly (it's our first night tradition :) )

Any other suggestions?
Any other good CS places at Epcot WS?
Any other resorts or Boardwalk CS places?

Thanks!

I take a look at some of the Moderate Resort CS menus.

Pepper Market gets wonderful reviews.
We liked CBR's food court last summer.
POR/FQ seem to get good reviews too.

I seem to recall some comments about the CS at GF, so maybe that is another to consider on one of your MK days as a way to get out of the park for a nice break. Menu items that might interest you:
Southwestern Chicken Sandwich $6.99

Roast Beef Sandwich with coleslaw $7.99

Italian Meat Sandwich with coleslaw $8.09

Jerk Chicken Sandwich with coleslaw $7.49
Tabbouleh Wrap with coleslaw $5.99

Chicken Caesar Salad $7.49
Fattoush Green Salad with romaine lettuce, red onions, tomatoes, radishes, cucumbers, croutons and fresh parsley and mint, tossed in olive oil, lemon juice and garlic dressing $7.49

Wow, thanks! That was so nice of you to post those menu options! :goodvibes What is the name of this GF CS place?

Grand Floridian's Gasparilla Grill and Games

The CS mods/values will offer choices: pasta meals, baked salmon, carved meat stations, etc. full meal options that would be nice choices most of them priced under $10.

At MGM we really likes Toy Story Pizza Planet-the pizza was very fresh and hot. We will definitely repeat this!

AK--we ate at Pizzafari and it was just fair--pizza was OK

Mk--loved Pecos Bill's--they had a really good chicken wrap there, also Pinocchios was very good ( I can't quite remember what we got though)

have fun!!!

In Epcot, we loved Tangierine and Sunshine Seasons. We were also pleasantly surprised by Kringla in Norway -- good fresh sandwich and soup meal. We did not care for the Cantina in Mexico at all. We thought about possibly trying Yakitori in Japan this year, but it really does get mixed reviews. I guess everything does

At MK, we had a very nice CS lunch at the Main St. Bakery.

HS, we might try Starring Rolls this year...don't think we did a CS there last year.

DTD, Wolfgang Puck Express was very good.

AK, we have thought about trying the Yak and Yeti CS -- again, it gets mixed reviews. But the menu looks interesting, so we'll see...

Tangierine Cafe is a must do for us maybe 2 or 3 times a visit to WDW the couscous, tabbouleh, hummos, and schwarma excellant.
