Hi all,

I am having a hard time getting crystal palace for breakfast. I got Chef Mickey's breakfast and never been to it.
Crystal Palace's pancake, smoke salmon, and just overall breakfast was really good.

Just curious if anyone can tell me if CM's breakfast is just as good. offering the same type of food?

I have never had a good meal at Chef Mickey's. The kids liked going there, though, for the characters. I would go elsewhere, unless you have young children. O'Hana's, Kona Cafe, Grand Floridian Cafe, or 1900 ParK Fare are some options.

I have to agree with Babsy. Chef Mickey's is one of my least favorite character buffets and I am not overly picky when it comes to breakfast foods but I would order a counter service breakfast platter from the Contempo Cafe and watch the shenanigans going on next door before I would book the far more expensive buffet with lackluster offerings at Chef Mickey's - or enjoy Steakhouse 71's feast breakfast. Crystal Palace is far superior and if you can snag a late breakfast reservation you can enjoy some of the lunch offerings as well!

Just thought that I would come back to add that Chef Mickey's food isn't nearly as good as Crystal palace food. But it isn't inedible and we always get enough to eat there. Maybe my first post came off a little harsh. Chef Mickey's can be fun and it is nice that you get to see and take pics with Chef Mickey there. So, while it is expensive, but it probably is nice to do at least once. If you don't find a Crystal palace reservation, it is an alternative. Just don't anticipate really good food and enjoy the experience.

We ate at both on a trip earlier this month. I didn't really notice any difference in food quality, but character interactions are far better managed at CM's. At CP Eeyore made a very slow loop and we had to ask to have him come to our table half an hour after Pooh, Piglet, and Tigger had all been by, our check was settled, and our preschoolers were getting really antsy. In contrast, at Chef Mickey's we got to see all five characters within about 10 minutes, and then they moved off to another section and we were able to get the kids to eat with minimal distraction.

Crystal Palace hands down. Been 4 or 5 times across about a dozen trips and it has always been good. If I want to see Mickey specifically I go to Tusker House or Garden Grill,.

We aren't big breakfast eaters and usually went to the coffee shop on the lower level or Contempo Cafe for breakfast last time we stayed at the Contemporary. It always looked like a LOT of people were in line to eat at Chef Mickey's. I assume most get up early, eat breakfast and then race off to a park. We like Chef Mickey's for dinner as the character interactions were very well organized and they rotated between every table. As I recall, the choice of food on the buffet was very good, we weren't looking for fine dining, and found a wide variety of items that would appeal to most. I would look on the official Disney site to see the current menu for anywhere you want to eat. Disney food tends to be pricey no matter where you go and part of the cost is for the character interactions at the places who offer that.

Crystal Palace is way better than Chef Mickeys.... If you want to meet Mickey then do CM but other than that its just OK
