Crystal Palace - Switching from Lunch to Bkfst. Will I be disappointed?

Crystal Palace - Breakfast or Lunch!

  • Breakfast - It's the most important meal of the day, after all!

  • Lunch - Yeah, but what about the Mandarin Orange Salad Dressing?

Hi, everyone!!

In the past, we've always eaten lunch at Crystal Palace. After a busy morning touring MK, it's been a nice break in the middle of the day.

We normally have an ADR for somewhere between 11:45 am & noon, & it's always been crowded - w/ huge long lines at the buffet!

So, I really don't like the crowd & standing in line multiple times at the buffet, but... the buffet has some really good items on it! It's a tradeoff!

Anyway, for our upcoming trip, a breakfast at CP fits better in our schedule than does a lunch.

It's either going to be -

Breakfast: Crystal Palace, Lunch: Counter, Dinner: 'Ohana

OR

Breakfast: Counter, Lunch: Crystal Palace, Dinner: 'Ohana.

I figure I might try for that 8:05 am breakfast! (Although, my family really doesn't do early mornings all that well! :upsidedow)

But my question... Are we going to miss lunch at Crystal Palace?

For those of you who have done both, which do you prefer - breakfast or lunch? And, which has been less crowded?

Thanks for any opinions and/or advice!!

:)

I've done both, and they're both remarkably good.

There are specialties at each that you won't be disappointed with, no matter which you choose.

Given your sched, I'd do the breakfast...only because I couldn't do CP and Ohana's in the course of 6-8 hours. It would just be too much (good) food. Other than that consideration, though.....I don't think there's any chance you wouldn't like breakfast there!

Poohs puffed french toast and their "breakfast lasagna" (assuming they still have that!) are memorable breakfast favorites!

personally, i think CP is the best around for bfast. We always try and make a point of starting our day there at least one day on the trip/

Hi
We have had done ARD for CP for years , from 2004 to 2011
love THE 8:05 am breakfast , in park early ,
:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I never go to Disney without having breakfast at Crystal Palace...my son & I love it.

We love lunch at CP because it's an air-conditioned break from the park, and even if it's a little crowded, it's better than outside around lunchtime. I'm a big fan of CS breakfasts, because it gets us more time in the parks before the afternoon madness begins.

Other posters make good points, particularly about Ohana right after CP (though I suppose it depends on how early your Ohana reservation is). And I've heard breakfast is just as yummy as lunch. (Will be dining at CP in 5 days, w00t!)

We love breakfast at CP. The food is good, the characters are still fresh and bouncy and everyone is happy. If you have an early reservation, it is a particular joy to see the MK before the crowds take over Main Street and the Castle.

Enjoy your meal, whichever time you choose.

I haven't eaten lunch there so can't compare the two. I did eat breakfast there last summer and immediately made reservations for breakfast this March. We LOVED it! I love the 8:05 early reservation.

I know!!! This is exactly how we usually plan - counter-service for breakfast & then a nice break for lunch! And Crystal Palace has always been lunch on our 1st MK day! So, I'm afraid we're going to miss it!

But I've always wanted to try the 8:05 am breakfast too! So I think we're going w/ Crystal Palace breakfast!

Thanks, everyone, for the replies!! According to the poll, breakfast wins!! And I have to admit, all the pics I've seen of the breakfast look really yummy!

Yay for trying new things!! :dance3:

For anyone who's done both, is the early breakfast a little bit less crowded than the lunch?
