This trip was just DD9 and I for a quick weekend. I have the Tables in Wonderland Card so we used that here.

I hadn’t been to the Crystal Palace since DS was 2 years old. We didn’t have a great time (problems with other peoples kids cutting into ours time with the characters) and the food was not good so we never went back. With DD9 loving Pooh, I decided to take a chance and try it.

There’s only 2 actual food pictures. I didn’t realize I hadn’t taken more until we got home and I was going through all my pictures. Oops.

We checked in and wandered around a bit looking at the landscaping.

When we sat down on a bench on the porch to wait, I took this picture. I did zoom in on the castle.

We only had about a 10 minute wait before they called our name. Since we had an 11:40 lunch seating, the restaurant wasn’t crowded yet.

Right away our server took our drink order (diet cokes for both of us) and let us know that Tigger and Eeyore were on their way so we might want to wait a few minutes before getting our food. Sure enough they were only a few tables away so we waited.

This fellow was doing his best to ignore them both. It was great. Anybody know him?

They were both having fun – picking on each other and on the people at the tables. Tigger kissed my hand and pretended to run off with our water bottle and DD’s Tinkerbell necklace which was still around her neck. :rotfl: DD asked if Tigger liked to bounce and he demonstrated his bounce for us. So cute.

When Eeyore arrived a few minutes later, DD gave him a huge hug too and had him check to make sure he still had his tail. He petted her head and gave me a wave before signing her autograph book and moving on.

We had a nice break at this point and went to get in the now long buffet line. They had a great selection for lunch. DD and I fell in love with the garlic mashed potatoes and the citrus marinated flank steak. We had plenty of those. Everything else was good but those were our favorites.

While we were eating, Piglet headed our way but before he reached us, it was time for the parade. DD didn’t want to participate (having a shy moment. ;) ) and we watched while Tigger and Piglet led the kids around our area of the restaurant. Piglet managed to hit one of the hanging lamps with the baton he was holding. The loud clang made us all laugh and Piglet covered his face with his hands as if to hide.

After the parade, Piglet took a break but that is when we got our 3rds of our favs and relaxed.

When Piglet did get to our table, DD asked if he’d been a hero lately and Piglet swelled up his chest and nodded. When she asked if he liked bacon it was a hoot. He held up his hands and gestured No, No, No and covered his mouth with his hands. She loved it. (I’d coached her to ask the bacon question because I wanted to see Piglet’s reaction. Naughty me.)

When Piglet left, we went to get dessert. DD’s favorite was the chocolate chip cookie. I loved the apple crumble and the boston cream pie. At this point our server tried to give us the check but I told her we would be a little while since we still hadn’t seen Pooh. I explained that Pooh was DD’s favorite and we couldn’t leave without seeing him. So she held onto the check and gave us yet another Diet Coke refill.

We let our food settle and decided we could squeeze in a little more dessert while we waited. :lmao:

It took another 20 minutes for Pooh to make his way to us which frustrated me a bit since we’d been there over an hour but I must not have shown it because DD was happy.

In that 20 minutes, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet actually got back to our table and goofed around with us a bit more.

DD practically jumped up and down when Pooh came, she was so excited. She asked him if he had some honey for lunch and who his best friend was. He said yes to the honey and opened his arms wide at the best friend question so I’m thinking that meant everyone was his best friend.

The server came over right after Pooh left and we were able to roll out of there an hour and 30 minutes after being seated. Phew, that’s a long lunch but it was a nice break in the middle of the day. We sure weren’t hungry when we left!

We enjoyed ourselves this time and the food was good. DD really loved seeing the characters so I’m glad we did it. I don’t know that I would want to eat there with DS13 and DH too but DD and I had fun.

I also took random pictures around the restaurant. I loved the Christmas decorations when you first walk in.

Aweaome post. Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to show DD3 & DS5! We are going a few times for B & L...too excited :)

What a lovely daughter you have!:) We are going to CP next week and I'm super excited! Bouncing off the walls, Tigger excited!!:cool1:

Awesome review and pictures! Your DD is adorable!

Quick question, what time was your ressie? Was the place super crowded or empty or somewhere in between?

Have been to breakfast and dinner here and it is always jammed and it gets a bit hectic for us but if lunch is really slow I might add that to our January plans

We had an 11:40am and were seated by 11:45am. It was great. Our side of the restaurant was pretty empty until about 12:15. I would say it was pretty relaxed the whole time we were there.
The buffet line was a little long but that was because there would be one or 2 people blocking half of it trying to decide what they wanted. But DD and I would just go around them and go back to that part of the buffet later.
I think if you go earlier, it makes a difference as to how hectic it is.

Thanks for posting such a nice, detailed review of your lunch at CP, plus all of those wonderful photos of your time there with your DD! :)

I loved your review. Your daughter is sooo cute, I love her big smile. :) Seeing a smile like that is when you know how great going to disney is. :goodvibes

Great review! This is one of my "for sures" on my list of ADRs and I think you just helped me choose lunch over breakfast :) Sounds great and seems like you guys had a really good time!

Loved your review and pics! We had lunch there 2 years ago and loved it, its one of our favourite places at WDW :cool1:

Great lunch review...

I have to say that I agree with you. I don't understand why it takes Pooh so long to get to your table. We had the 1st breakfast seating of the day last Sunday. We were seated right away. Got our drink orders. The waiter told us to get our food which we did. Then, we saw Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore right away. Then, there was the parade. Then,we saw Tigger, Piglet & Eeyore again before Pooh came around. We had an 8:05 am breakfast seat time but by 9 am Pooh still hadn't come around. So, I sent dh off at 9 am to get some fastpasses as the park was opening. Finally, he showed up at 9:15 am. My dh was able to get fastpasses at Thunder Mountain and come back. I was a little frustrated in waiting as well. But I didn't let it show because of the kids. When, we left the restaurant the place was completely packed. I'm wondering if they need a smaller place for all the characters to get around quickly. It ended up being a really slow day at the parks so, it really didn't matter in the end.

I have to disagree with you - we HATED the CP. We were just there last week for lunch and were really excited about this meal. The food was horrible - just reminded me of a cafeteria - not flavored well and just overall not good at all. The characters were good except for Tigger - he was a total JERK. He skipped 3 tables (including ours) and we were all there - it wasn't like we were at the buffett when he came. Then when we tried to get him to come back he totally ignored us. In trying to get his attention my husband audibly heard him say "How many pictures do you want, man?" to a dad taking a couple pics of his kids. When our waiter tried to get him to come back he refused. So we had to catch up with him near the buffett to get pictures. It was ridiculous and I would have been furious if we had paid out of pocket instead of being on the dining plan. The meal was outrageously expensive and frustrating. Glad to hear you had a better time! Hope our experience is not the norm.

That's horrible! Tigger needed a major attitude adjustment.

I'm sorry you didn't get to have a wonderful experience.
