Crystal Palace Character Dinner

Is the Crystal Palace, Main Street - Magic Kingdom, Character Dinner Buffet any good? I have meals planned for everywhere else but haven't decided on dinner at the Magic Kingdom. Any likes or dislikes about this place would be beneficial. Also if you know of somewhere better for dinner at Magic Kingdom that would be great too.

I have a nice review of the lunch my family attended at Crystal Palace in March of 2005. The food here was great and the characters were fun and enjoyable.

I agree this is a great place to have dinner. We really enjoyed it. In fact I made one of their dishes the other night. They have a great selection of food and desserts.

It's one of the character meals where the food alone is worth the price. They have a large selection of "regular" and "exotic" foods. We went just before closing and had the characters almost to ourselves at the end - and it wasn't nearly as loud as it could be.

Very nice buffet -- wide selection of foods that will suit almost anyone. The best part is the character interaction. CP characters seem to spend more time with you and come around more frequently than some other character meals. Tigger especially is usually very animated and delights the kids. This is a wonderful buffet dinner (or even lunch or breakfast).

I must respectfully disagree. We went in September and the food was almost unedible. It was by far the worst restaurant we have been to food wise in WDW. And we have spent 20 days there in the last 6 months. Keep in mind though, like all things subjective, it is a matter of personal taste. Both my wife and I disliked the food. Very cafeteria style restaurant. The kids thought it was ok. The characters were good. I would recommend Liberty Tree Tavern over this one. Though also not one of my favorites.

We were there about 3 years ago for lunch and at that time it was just fair at best. Due to the influx of such wonderful reviews on this board lately I just had to give it a shot again a few weeks ago. We went for lunch and it didn't disappoint.

It was quite excellent and I already have an ADR set for our trip next month. The food was fresh and there was quite a selection. My picky 7 yr old enjoyed it as well and the characters are spaced nicely so you won't miss them when you get up to go to the buffet. We may even try dinner next time, which I was told by our server, has different items than lunch.

We just ate there last week for dinner and I thought it was excellent buffet food. it was better than the buffet we had at the Grand FLoridian which surprised me.

My family ate at the Crystal Palace in April and we all agreed that the food had the best flavor of any buffet at Disney. In our opinion Hollywood and Vine over at MGM Studios comes in a close second. Enjoy!!

We ate dinner there 2 weeks ago and I have to agree with earlier posts that the food here is well worth it (yes that pork was quite tasty) The quality of the food here is the best of the character meals we had been to including 1900 Park and Chef Mickeys. Even the food for the kids seemed a cut above. My son thought the rainbow bread was so cool! We ate at Tony's in MK too and if I had to do it again I would eat at CP twice instead!

The characters are Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore a nd Piglet.

We love eating there. I think breakfast is our favorite meal there. They changed the lunch menu from the time that we went so I can't comment on that but the dinner meal was fairly good as well. Our kids definately love the interaction with Pooh and friends.

We've eaten there 3 times (lunch & dinner) and it was great every time. It's a bit noisy... but that's my only complaint.

I was disappointed last trip with the staff, service and the Pooh costumes looked beat up and dirty. A spouse of my husband's co-worker went the same trip and had the same observations.
