Crystal Around Cake

Where do you get those crystal bands that wrap around the cake? Do you purchase them on your own or does the cake person put it on? Not sure if I want this around my cake or not, but just wondering... it's very pretty!

My DD isn't using one of those crystal bands, but she is having bands of crystal sugar on the bottom of each layer. She is also having icing swirls on each layer of the fondant icing and is accenting the swirls with the crystal sugar. Hopefully it will turn out as pretty as it sounds!

I had Sari from Toppers with Glitz create the Swarovski Crystal bands for me because no one was making them at the time that I designed my cake and she said she could do it. Disney wasn't even sure what I was talking about when I first described my idea to Heidi at my first consulting session! They were great & totally comfortable with what I had planned. Sari did a great job and I believe she now sells them on her site.

Disney now sells the cake as well. (My one request was to be the first Disney bride with the Swarovski Crystal Band Cake and Ken, my WP, & DFTW honored that) A version is also now on display at Franck's and I would think you would pay for the ribbon and keep them, but am not sure. (I could also see them allowing you to rent the crystal ribbon too considering the cost -- you'd have to ask your WP)
