:rotfl: Funny, but true. I'm making myself hungry looking at all the photos again.

**Warning...I still have 4 more days of food photos to go.** (as soon as my photo storage site gets back onlline from maintenance)

This was a bad day for menu photos. (sorry :guilty:) DH and I had "date night" in Palo and we simply forgot to take menu photos. (Probably still in shock that we were sitting in the "grown-up" restaurant gazing on snowcapped mountains)

Then we found out that the menu in the other restaurants was the new Alaskan menu...and WE had the cameras. I was so busy rushing around trying to get everyone dressed and to dinner on time after the POTC:OST movie that I didn't think to send DD and DS to dinner with a camera, so no photos at all from that. I guess we'll just have to make plans to go back. :woohoo:

Love your report! We leave on Aug. 9th for our cruise. Your report is getting me very excited. My DD's are 11 and 9 - I'm very curious how your daughter liked the Edge? My 11 year old DD is very excited about that. Also, any problems with the wave phones?

Can't wait to read more.

Loving reading your report!

We are booked on August 9th too! My son is 8 and my daughter is 5! Can't wait to read the rest! Thanks so much for sharing! We have booked shore excursions for each port but you are making me want to rethink that...it looks like you had a relaxing time without it being too frantic...

Just found this site while getting ready for our Alaska cruise on July 19. Thank you so much for all the info you posted, it's great to have a better idea of what to expect to help plan our trip. I do have one question if you don't mind...we have reservations at Palo during our day in Tracy Arm....do you remember what time the ship was at the glacier? I want to make sure were not supposed to be in Palo....I'd have to skip the food to see the glacier!

According to my camera's time stamp we got in as close to the glacier as we were going to get around 3:15 and I'm guessing we hung out there about 30 - 40 minutes or so before we began the return trip.

Because of the high seal population on the ice bergs the captain wasn't able to swing the ship around and he had to back out. Because of that the only place you could get a good view of the glacier was from the bow of the ship. They did make an announcement so everyone had time to go up front for a view.

Have a great trip!

thanks for sharing and making us feel a part of your great experience.

makes me look forward to my turn on the Wonder in Alaska!:thumbsup2

Two weeks and counting! I’m thinking it’s time to get REALLY serious about packing.

Since this is an Alaskan cruise, and our 1st 7 night cruise, the packing parameters are different and the clothes bulkier. With a formal, semi-formal, pirate night and three shore days I know packing efficiently will be important.

A very enjoyable report! Thanks! Hubby and I are sailing (with the in laws) in late July (sooo excited!!) and I wanted to ask your opinion on something re: packing. You mentioned once that temps inside were sometimes too warm. I was thinking of packing a couple of pretty sweaters for dinner attire. Do you think they would be too warm? Thanks for the feedback.

I think too warm or cold is pretty specific to each person. I am from the Seattle area and find 68-70 degrees to be quite comfortable, whereas my mother (from Florida) considers it to be very chilly.

If I was wearing short sleeves I did carry a button down sweater to restaurants or the theater in case they had the air conditioning on, but I don't recall ever needing it. My best suggestion is to wear layers. Luckily the ship is not so big that if you are too cold or too warm you can always walk back to your cabin to change. Hope that helps. Have a great trip!
