My DS8 loved it in April. Just remember to keep your "bottom" up to prevent it from getting bruised by the contraption that keeps the raft screaming along.
Oh, it's definately OK for an 8 yr old. I haven't been on the Disney version of this ride but I was on one at an indoor waterpark in Alaska last suummer as well as one in the Wisconsin Dells...My son and daughter both loved this ride and they were only 5 and 7! We went on it more times than I can count! It's a must do!!!! Kathy
Just did this with DS 7. He absolutely loved it! Thankfully I had read on the boards to keep my bottom up and had no problems. It goes by pretty fast, but my DS and I were giggling the whole time. It was great!
You have to carry the rafts up yourself. My DS6 loved them all! The water at the bottom of the slides is not very deep, less that 3 feet would be my guess.
I thought they were the best slides out of both parks. If you go early there is no line. We were able to ride all 3 slides one right after the next with no wait. We went back later in the day and the line was a bit longer, but we waited anyway because we loved them so much.
I was able to find photos of them by clicking th photo/video tab at the top of the disboard page at this web site. It looks like a really steep initial drop.
