Cruising with teenager

So I really want to go on Fantasy this summer. I am very concerned my active 14DS will be bored. My 12DS will love it and makes friends easily. My 14 is somewhat reserved and feels uncomfortable speaking to other kids he doesn't know. Once he makes friends it's great but he will in initiate the conversation. What activities are there for boys his age? I think he would love the ports (Western) but as for activities on the boat I am not sure what he would like. Other than eating

This would be our first cruise and we really don't know much about it.

I can't specifically detail the activities, but both your sons can participate in the same club (Edge). Maybe that would be a help? I don't know, my sons wouldn't mix socially at that age (with each other).
The 12 year old can participate in both Lab and Edge, while the 14 year old can participate in both Edge and Vibe.

I will point out it's real important that they both attend the Open House even on embarkation day to check out both spaces and make some choices then.

They may wind up initially attending together and then split up as they meet others.

Thank you for advice.. Worst case is they have each other but I was really hoping something would interest my 14year old but I guess we have to go and try it to know. LOL

Sports Deck - shooting hoops and other activities - that's where our son made friends as he got older. He did not care for the Vibe that much.

Goofy (mini) Golf - can meet people there

AquaDuck - will probably make friends while standing in line

But Like Shmoo said - it's important to make it to the first nights activities - that's when the most kids will be in the clubs.

For active kids I would seriously consider The freedom/oasis there is so much to do The flowrider, rock climbing wall rope courses ice skating etch

There's really something for everyone. It's super important as others have said to go to open house and to the first night meeting in the clubs. It will seem late, 10 pm or so, but they plan activities for the whole cruise and it really helps to meet people and make friends.

My son was 13 on both our previous cruises so he spent all his time in Edge. This time he'll be 14 and says he wants to try Vibe but the impression I have of it is that it's more of a "hanging out" spot vs having more activities as Edge does. We'll see what he likes, I guess.

There is a ton of sports stuff on the ship and on CC that he can do (including bicycle rental on CC if he's into that) so I would say he won't be bored!
