Please note - The vaccination clauses below are changing on sailings from 10/14 on most ships and 11/7 on the Magic. The new policy will be as follows:

"Beginning October 14, 2022, for Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, and Disney Wish, and Disney Wonder sailings, and followed November 7, 2022 for Disney Magic sailings, Disney Cruise Line will no longer require Guests to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the time of sailing, however, it is highly recommended. All Guests ages 5 years and older who are not fully vaccinated (Unvaccinated Guests) will need to submit proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken 1-2 days before the sail date. Guests ages 4 years of age and younger do not require testing."

We'll try to keep this first post up to date as things change, but please know we're just two individuals with day jobs - this will be a best effort and not the end all be all. When in doubt, ASK DISNEY. They can change their minds on the fly.

A MEMBER OF MY PARTY IS POSITIVE.. WHAT DO I DO?
This will depend on how far out from your cruise you are. If you are far enough out from your boarding date to qualify as "recovered" then you can apply for "recently recovered" status so you do not need to test. For more info on how to do this please read below under - "Guests Recently Recovered from COVID-19".

If you are less than 12 days before sailing when you first have positive covid results then I am very sorry, you will likely be denied boarding. The best thing to do is call DCL - they are currently allowing guests who either have or have been exposed to covid within 14 days of sailing to request a full refund. Your type of booking does not matter here, GTY, *GT, FLR, concierge, at present all are being refunded with no further questions. You will have to be within 14 days, but otherwise they are playing it safe and would rather not have you come to the port at all.

PRE-TRIP TESTING AT HOME
https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/why-cruise-disney/experience-updates/us/
Guests who are not vaccine-eligible because of age (or just aren't after the vaccination rules change in October/November) must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result (paid for by the Guest) taken between 3 days and 24 hours before their sail date. Guests ages 5 through 11 may complete this testing requirement in lieu of being fully vaccinated. Guests 4 years of age and under must complete the testing requirements.

The test should be a NAAT test, rapid PCR test or lab-based PCR test. Rapid antigen tests are not accepted. Disney Cruise Line has secured a special rate of $98.33 per PCR test (which includes a 3.5% processing fee) through our third-party vendor, Inspire Diagnostics. Guests may also obtain their test from any independent testing supplier.

Upload Proof of Vaccination or COVID-19 Test Results: In order to sail, all Guests (adults and children, regardless of age) must upload their proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test results on the Safe Passage website by Inspire Diagnostics. Children ages 5 through 11 who are fully vaccinated before January 13, 2022, may submit proof of their vaccination in lieu of providing a negative pre-trip COVID-19 PCR test. A parent or legal guardian will need to use their own account to provide this information on behalf of minors. To learn more about how to provide proof of your negative COVID-19 test result, please visit Before Leaving Home: Know Before You Go.

TESTING AT HOME 3 DAYS TO 24 HOURS PRIOR OR AT THE PORT/QUESTIONNAIRE
https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/why-cruise-disney/experience-updates/us/
Fully vaccinated Guests on sailings departing US and Canadian ports on or after June 7, 2022, must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result (paid for by the Guest) taken no more than 2 days before their sail date to be exempt from embarkation testing at the terminal. All other fully vaccinated Guests must be tested at the terminal before boarding and will be charged for the cost of the test.
Upload your pre-trip COVID-19 PCR test results or proof of vaccination to the Safe Passage website by Inspire Diagnostics and ensure your account indicates those in your travel party are clear to arrive at the port. A parent or legal guardian must use their own account to submit test results or proof of vaccinations on behalf of minors.

Guests Recently Recovered from COVID-19: In some cases, people who have recently recovered from COVID-19 may still test positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus. If Guests have tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 within 11-90 days of their sail date, they may qualify to be considered as “90-Day-Recovered.” With the appropriate documentation and subsequent approval, Guests considered “90-Day-Recovered” are not required to participate in COVID-19 testing during the Pre-Sail, Embarkation or Debarkation phases of their voyage. For details on what documentation is required, please visit Before Leaving Home: Know Before You Go.

Embarkation Day Health Questionnaire: All Guests are required to complete a health questionnaire prior to arriving at the terminal. The form can be found on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App on Embarkation Day. In addition, an email will be sent out to all Guests with a link where Guests can fill out the questionnaire. A secondary screening by a health care professional may be required based on the answers provided in the health questionnaire.

Debarkation Day COVID-19 Testing: All unvaccinated Guests on 5-night and longer sailings are required to take a COVID-19 antigen test (paid for by Disney Cruise Line) on the ship the day before debarking.

Back-to-Back Sailings: Unvaccinated Guests on consecutive back-to-back sailings are required to submit the results of only one pre-trip COVID-19 test taken between 3 days and 24 hours before their first sail date. The test should be a NAAT test, rapid PCR test or lab-based PCR test. All Guests on consecutive, back-to-back sailings, regardless of age and vaccination status, will be required to undergo a COVID-19 test (paid for by Disney Cruise Line and administered by Inspire Diagnostics) at the terminal after debarking the ship following their first cruise and before reboarding the ship for their second cruise. Vaccinated Guests must upload their proof of vaccination to the Safe Passage website for each voyage.

Post-Cruise Testing Service for Guests Returning Home: Some Guests may be required by their home country or state public health authorities to show proof of a negative COVID-19 antigen or PCR test result before returning home by air. Inspire Diagnostics, Disney Cruise Line’s third-party testing provider, offers this optional service for PCR testing and antigen testing. Guests are responsible for knowing what type of test their home country/state requires (PCR or antigen), and the window of time in which it must be conducted. Testing is conducted at the terminal after debarking the ship. Results take approximately 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the type of test. This service is available for cruises beginning on or after January 31, 2022. For more information and to book an appointment, visit the Safe Passage website.

WHAT IF I OR A MEMBER OF MY PARTY TEST POSITIVE AT THE PORT?
I'm very sorry, your party will not be allowed to board. In this case "your party" will also mean anyone else who shared transportation with you - it is possible if multiple cabins share a ride they may all be denied boarding even if they did not otherwise come into contact with each other prior. The DCL buses are exempt from this for... reasons.. but if you share a van or similar this may happen.

From what guests have experienced you will be pulled aside and offered credit or a refund. Then, if you need luggage retrieved, you will need to wait isolated in a trailer until it can be found. Some guests have reported being able to hang onto their luggage in which case there is no further need to wait, they are free to return to their own mode of transportation or DCL will provide transport to MCO. I do not believe they are taking folk anywhere else at present, but please let us know if that is incorrect! This wait has been up to several hours, and there is no food or drink available for purchase. There have been reports of small bottles of water and chips available, but there are no sandwich boxes or proper lunch despite some being held until 3 or 4pm before their luggage is found.

CURRENT VACCINATION RULES
https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/why-cruise-disney/experience-updates/us/
Currently, Disney Cruise Line continues to require all vaccine-eligible Guests (based on US eligibility requirements) to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, as defined by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), at the time of sailing. This will be a requirement for all Guests (US and international) ages 5 and up. Guests who are not vaccine-eligible because of age must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result (paid for by the Guest) taken between 3 days and 24 hours before their sail date. Guests 4 years of age and under must complete the testing requirements. The test should be a NAAT test, rapid PCR test or lab-based PCR test. Rapid antigen tests are not accepted.

In consideration of guidance from the CDC and the World Health Organization, Disney Cruise Lines accepts the following vaccine types: Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca, Covishield, Novavax, Sinopharm BBIBP-CorV (VeroCell), Sinovac-CoronaVac and Covavaxin (Bharat Biotech).

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) defines fully vaccinated as 14 days after receiving:
  • A single dose of an accepted 1-dose vaccine
  • The second dose of an accepted 2-dose vaccine
  • The full series of an active (not placebo) COVID-19 vaccine in the US-based AstraZeneca or Novavax COVID-19 vaccine trials
  • The second dose of any “mix and match” combination of accepted COVID-19 vaccines (administered at least 17 days apart)

CURRENT MASKING RULES ONBOARD
Face coverings are not required for Guests outdoors while on board the ship and at designated locations on our private island, Disney Castaway Cay. Face coverings are optional in most indoor locations throughout the ship. Guests under 5 years of age who are currently ineligible to be vaccinated will be required to wear face coverings in Youth Activity spaces and in the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique; and, while not required, we continue to strongly recommend these Guests wear a face covering in all other indoor locations. Face coverings are required on motorcoach transportation and in the Disney Cruise Line Terminal and may be required in ports of call based on local government requirements.

All face coverings should fully cover an individual’s nose and mouth and allow the Guest to remain hands-free; fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face; be secured with ties or ear loops; and be made of 2 layers of breathable material, either disposable or reusable, that is not elastic in nature, such as spandex and elastane. At this time based on guidance from health authorities, neck gaiters, open-chin triangle bandanas and face coverings containing valves, mesh material or holes of any kind are not acceptable face coverings. Costume masks are not considered appropriate and are prohibited from being worn. Please be sure to review the information available on the Know Before You Go section of our website for answers to many frequently asked questions.

PORT OF CALL INFO
General Tour Protocols and Vaccination Status:
Fully vaccinated Guests who wish to disembark the ship while in a port of call can do so without purchasing a Disney Cruise Line Port Adventure. Guests who are vaccinated and wish to disembark the ship with unvaccinated children will need to purchase a Disney Cruise Line Port Adventure. All Guests are required to adhere to local laws, regulations and protocols, including those related to health and safety, in place at the destination.

SAN FRANSISCO:
You will need to also have a booster to debark in SF: https://www.disboards.com/threads/san-francisco-port-requiring-booster-shot.3866764/#post-63673550

but the real key here may be getting a note from a doctor willing to confirm you are recovered and safe to sail. These forms will give you a 90 day exemption from testing at the port. ***I'd love more confirmation or details from folks on this!***
That portion is done through SafePassage where you apply for "recovered" status. You need to upload proof of positive diagnostic + dr. letter. Staff at Inspire will review the "request from exemption" and approve or decline

I just keep worrying if my sons results from his PCR test will come back in time I hope the testing requirement is dropped soon unless they wanna pay at the port for everyone

Hi! I’ve been looking everywhere for an answer and if there is another thread with similar chat - please point me. My daughter has never cruised before so she registered with safe passage today and the presail is pending approval. But the site won’t let her purchase a test for her reservation. I logged in with my reservation but was already pre-sail cleared and was able to order only for my reservation. So- why can’t she order? Any ideas? We tried calling but inspire was gone for the day. Just wondering if it’s something silly.
