Cruising to Mexico, Disney Style: Sept. 25 - Oct. 2, 2011 - ~*~UPDATED 10/30!~*~

Love the last two updates. I can't wait to find out why Mickey wanted your digits - Look, I'm trying to be cool. I should keep trying....

Ha ha...so me and my bff was on the same cruise. We actually sat next to you in the terminal waiting to board the ship. I love your trip report and all the pictures. We missed some of the trivia because we were doing other things, but we would of gave you a run for your money I think....ha ha. We loved doing the movie and 80's trivia.

Glad you had a good time and I look forward to reading your other days.
Man was Cabo hot or what?

We also thought that there was plenty of character time and pictures. We were lucky to catch many of the characters strolling around the ship. Maybe that is the trick is to just wander around the ship and you never know who you may catch.

Don't worry about watching the Beiber Movie that first day. I watched it as well, to the shock of my bbf Julie. She thought I had gone crazy. But if you repeat that I will deny it..ha ha.

You guys sure racked up the trivia prizes! And I am SO asking for some chocolate covered strawberries to go from Palo!

You're leaving me wanting more!!!

Very interested in that outdoor market you went to. I wonder if we could hop a cab from the ship when we go in Feb. and ask them to take us there. Looks great in your picture!

Can't wait for more! And of course to find out if Mickey was trying to pick you up or wanted to send you a gift! :)

Great trip report enjoying it so far, and I see you got a picture with Frankie. He is awesome, I haven't seen him in forever and miss him.

Thanks! Yeah DJ Frankie was a funny guy. After we won the trivia that he hosted, he playfully accused us of cheating the next time we won a trivia. We called him a hater every time we saw him after that. :lmao: I think our cruise was his last before his break though; hopefully he's getting some well-deserved rest.

You got me! Now i'm hanging for it!

Yessss! :woohoo:

Thank you! I can't tell you just how curious I was for the two days that we didn't hear anything. I kept bothering BFF, wondering what it was for. :rotfl:

Nice! 80's trivia was a lot of fun! Are you talking about the movie quotes trivia? That one was incredibly difficult! I told Dave afterwards that he needed to incorporate quotes from movies that were released after I was born. :lmao:

Awesome! Glad to know we weren't the only ones. It was surprisingly good, right? Really interesting!

Definitely ask for the chocolate covered strawberries, they are so delicious and keep well in the "non-fridge" for a while!

You definitely could have the cab take you straight there; just tell them you want to be dropped off at the mercado!

I am really enjoying your TR Christy..........

Thank you! :flower3: I am really enjoying writing it!

I am going to do my best to finish the next installment by tomorrow evening! If I don't, I won't be able to update until Monday, because I'm going out of town until then.

I'm loving your TR, thanks for all the pics you posted from your Palo brunch. Looks like you girls had tons of fun :goodvibes

I'm so looking forward to our cruise.

yeah, your cruise was his last before his break. I know that from talking with him on facebook.

Can't wait to read more about your trip:cool1:

Okay, now here’s where something craaaaazy happened. Like I mentioned before, BFF & I love playing along with the characters, making small talk with them in response to their gestures. For example, a running joke that we had with Minnie was that the first couple of times we ran into her, I always told her that I loved her dress (and I did! The various costumes that they had for Minnie were so cute!). By the third time I saw her (and every time after that) anytime we ran into her in a new outfit, she demonstrated to me that she was showing off her dress, and I always said “Ooh girl, I like this one too!” :rotfl:

Anyway, when we met Mickey in his mariachi outfit, we “chatted” with him a bit, and then we thanked him for the picture and walked away. As we walked away, BFF looked back and noticed that Mickey made some sort of hand motion/signal to his handler (I know it sounds ridiculous but it’s true! Oh, and the handler was Princess Tiana’s “friend,” if you know what I mean). Then the handler came running after us and said (I kid you not) “Mickey would like to know your names and stateroom number, please.”

Say whaaaaaat?

Without even thinking I rattled off our names and stateroom number, and she wrote it all down on a piece of paper, said “Thanks!” and went back to Mickey.

BFF & I were excited and kind of confused, to be honest. What on earth would Mickey want our stateroom number for? Clearly it’s something that has happened before, since there’s some magic hand signal that specifically meant “ask for their stateroom number please.” Were we going to get a creepy 3am visit from Mickey? Unlikely. But what could it possibly be for? A gift? A letter? A report to Guest Services that the girls in Stateroom 5637 were crazy?

...

We didn’t find out until Friday, so you won’t find out until that day of the trip report. How’s that for a cliffhanger? :earboy2:

OH!!!! I want to know so badly!!!! Can't wait to find out! :goodvibes

Oh, you guys and your trivia!!! You crack me up! :lmao: I think DD and I will just have to try all of these when we go... we played "So You Think You Know Your Family?" last time and we won! But that was the only game we won (we played a trivia one too, in which we got 2nd place... so close!) So, I guess we'll be playing like you guys!

Great update! :thumbsup2

I'm loving your TR. My DW and I are heading out on the MR cruise on January 15. It's our first cruise ever and we're very excited. It's just killing me sitting here at work reading others' TRs :surfweb::surfweb::surfweb:

I am LOVING your TR! You seem so feisty and I love it! :lmao:

Our MR cruise is Dec 11 and I can not wait!

Glad to hear you're liking the food so far. That was one thing I was worried about. And I know you're being completely honest about the food, seeing as you're from the bay area and all (btw, have you ever been to Gary Danko's in SF?! Ugh, we've tried twice to get a ressie there, but no luck :headache:)

Anyway, can't wait to hear the rest! :yay:

Okay, I was a little curious about the whole Mickey thing, but now it's been a few days and I'm really curious! You're keeping us in suspense! popcorn::

Thank you! You are going to have an excellent time on the Wonder! :goodvibes

Oh good, he deserves it!

Yes, we were a little ridic with the trivia. :rotfl: Definitely play more trivia when you're back on the ship! I felt like it was always the same people playing so after a few times it was like playing with a bunch of friends.

Thank you! I was the same way for the couple of months before my cruise, and now that I'm post-cruise...it's the same, because now I know what it's like to be on a Disney Cruise and I want to know even more! :lmao:

Thank you!!! I have been told that I am feisty a time or two before. :lmao: There was some food I did not care for (Pinocchio's Pizza, a couple dishes here and there) but for the most part I was impressed. No, I've never been to Gary Danko; it's a little too much for my pocketbook at this point in my life

Lovin' your TR........Can't wait for more!

Thank you! :flower3:

Eeek! Sorry to disappoint, but I'm flying out to NYC tomorrow morning & I'm still not packed, so I probably won't get an update done tonight. I promise I'll be right back on it as soon as I get back on Monday! Here's a clue...a note card was delivered to us. But I won't tell you what it said or what it was for until later! :dance3:

TIP: There is a Starbucks inside of the Galleria Vallarta. I tell you this not because I am a Starbucks addict, but because when I walked by it, I noticed that EVERYONE around the Starbucks was on their laptops…hello, wi-fi! I didn’t bring my laptop on the ship with me, but hopefully one of you can take advantage of this!

Thank you for this!! I collect Starbucks mugs from all over. Did you notice if they had PV mugs???

And I'm dying to know what Mickey sent you! :)

@ the bolded - Ugh tell me about it. There are some FABULOUS restaurants in SF that i'm dying to get to (including Fleur de Lys) so hopefully one day. I'm usually only up there to go see the Giants (woot woot! although this year sucked).

Anyway, safe flight and can't wait to hear your next update!

Great trip report I hope November comes fast enough for you so you hear if you passed. Good luck to you.

Christy-
The peach Bellini sounds yummy. I cannot wait to have mine next month. Congratulations on our winnings! I appreciate your PV tips!
