Cruising the Dream on our 1st cruise ever!!! (5 Night Double Dip)

Makes me curious - what were the minimum bids for the auction? I'd love to buy some original Disney art but I've always had to stick to recreations and prints because of the costs.

Some were quite expensive. The lowest one started at $250 which I was surprised at. I just wasn't crazy about any of them so wasn't at all tempted to bid. But I think they might have had more interest if they started lower. They all varied, I there were between 15-20 items in the auction and if I'm remembering correctly they were all between $250-$1500 starting bids. I'm completely happy with prints myself, saves money I could spend on more vacations :)

All caught up now!

right when I feel I need to be on the DCL, I read your TR, look at your pictures, and suddenly you take me there!

I love the baby dash! HOW CUTE!
and the paintings are always so expensive, but I will buy one next time I go.

Keep it coming! and thanks again for taking me on your trip!

Thank you, you brought a big smile to my face! I needed that. :goodvibes

LOVE your trip report and all the pictures! We are taking our first cruise on the Fantasy in August. Could you do that one before we go, post a trip report so we can get a preview!? :)

Thank you so much :) I'm so not following you, do what one before you go? I won't be on the Fantasy until next March, you'll be seeing her before me.

It was a joke. I wanted you to book one between now and then JUST so I can see your pictures on your trip report that you would certainly do before we leave on August 25. ;) Because you are doing such an awesome job with the TR! Can you get right on that for me! :lmao: Really enjoying your report and the pictures, keep 'em coming.

We didn't finish the Midship Detective Agency since every picture we found had tons of people around them. It was the sea day, so I figured it would be busy, and we could always finish later. When we got to the room we found the frogs lounging so felt the Donalds could use some lounging time as well.

We decided to just relax on the verandah for a few hours, and I caught up on my journaling. At some point I went in for a drink and offered mom some. She hesitantly said she better not, she didn't want me to catch anything. WHAT!!! This was the first time she even mentioned feeling anything but great. I pestered her about going to the health center but she refused. I definitely should have insisted because all she did was get worse. Claimed it was nothing serious but she snuffled and coughed for days. :sad2:

After a while we decided to head up to the Quiet Cove pool but when we got there it was pretty crowded, so decided to do a second ride in the Aquaduck to cool off. Since I had sat in the back last time I asked if she was going to switch, no thank you she said. So again I got soaked. Oh well, I was stifling so that helped.

Then we lounged on deck 12 for a while. It was so relaxing with a wonderful breeze. I ordered a Konk Kooler from one of the guys that walk around asking everybody if they needed a drink. I just loved being waited on like that. Oh how I could go for a Konk Kooler right about now :cloud9: It was just so scrumptuous!

Some pictures of the deck.

some people ended up leaving so we moved closer to the jumbotron and watched the second half of Cars.

We finally left because I started to get hungry. We took some pizza and fruit back down to the room and sat on our verandah again.

I almost forgot a picture, and even contemplated skipping it, but just couldn't :) This was a margarita pizza and was delicious.

all the available fruits. So fresh and tasy.

When we were picking up our food I felt certain we were behind Mike Super who did the magic show but I wasn't 100%. This person had the same coloring and build and the same gigantic diamonds in his ears but I didn't want to say anything and be wrong. Now I'll never know.

continued in next post.

After a wonderful afternoon of lounging about we showered and headed to the show of the night.

I was trying so hard to get a good picture of the screen and it was at least ten minutes before starting time so was not interrupting anything. I kept playing with the settings and taking more and more and finally got it right, but the lady in front of me told me there was no photographing allowed. I assured her I wouldn't be doing that in the show, just wanted a picture of the title. She must have been afraid I would be taking pictures the whole time, but nothing was happening right then...

I hadn't noticed the WD before and thought it was a nice touch.

I loved the show and probably thought it was the best of the three only because it was just plain funny. The other two were sentimental and mushy in parts, this was just entertainment. It doesn't get the best reviews, some people don't like the emphasis on the villains, but I thought it was great.

The bathrooms outside of the theater were packed so we went back to the room, it was only one floor up so no problem, but as we walked to the room Captain Gus announced the Magic would be passing us on the Starboard side in a few moments. We were on the Starboard side!!! So we raced into the room and onto the verandah and there it was in the distance. It was so cool to watch and I couldn't tear my eyes away until she rounded our bow and was gone from view.

I was enthralled :) It was so amazingly cool to see the Magic pass us. They even did a horn battle with us.

Wow love your pics of the Magic passing along side the Dream..so cool:goodvibes And a horn battle too..so fun!! Villians Tonite was the only show we didn't see on our cruise. It was our Remy nite and that was one long dinner!

Wow that must have been so surreal to see the Magic pass right by! I can only imagine what that was like....:goodvibes On a side note: thanks for updating, here's my update: DH and I talked alot last night about doing a cruise, and the night ended badly!:sad2: BUT things are looking up tonite...I can be very persuasive! ;) More and more and more please!

What did you think of Remy? worthy of going? All I've heard are good things but I'm still not sure.

The Magic is actually the first DCL ship I ever saw in real life, so it holds a special place in my heart. It was so special to see her again.

Oh no! That doesn't sound good. What doesn't he like about the idea if you don't mind me asking?

It really was surreal, such a special thing to watch :goodvibes

Food looks so good!

How fun that the Magic passed by and that there was a horn battle. How loud was that?!

I can't wait to see all the shows!

We really enjoyed Remy. The food and ambiance were top notch. They bend over backward to make you happy and make sure you enjoy your experience. For example our waiter overheard my DH tell me he disliked seafood and so the kitchen removed the seafood from his serving of Ratatouille (so fun that Remy serves that after seeing the movie)..little things like that and I could go on..they gave me extra home made lollipops because I loved them. We're sailing the Magic next month for the first time..I hope it's not a let down after the Dream..

I think that lady was wrong! I believe it's no video taping or flash photography.

Love the shots of the Magic. Sorry your Mom got sick. :sad2: I'm so hoping that Fran gets better enough to go on our cruise, we have three days at sea. Sounds like you had a relaxing one.

It was quite loud, so cool to hear. I have a video but am having a hard time transferring it online. I recorded if on the camera and whenever I try to download it it stops itself.

That sounds fantastic, I'm going to see if it fits in the schedule next cruise. I think you'll really enjoy the Magic, from all I've heard each ship has its individual personality and all are wonderful :)

I think so too. I was just amused at her complaining when the show was far from starting at the point I was using flash.

I can't believe she got sick, vacation is just not the time for that!

I really really hope Fran is well by then. I would hate for you to have to cancel another trip. Tell her she must do everything the drs say!

Three sea days sound wonderful! That's what we'll have for next March, and I'm so looking forward to them.
