Hi,

Very tempted to cruise over Christmas in 2017. What do Disney do on this cruise thats different/special compared to the merrytime cruises that happen in December?

Cant decide whether RCCL or DCL would be better. Having sailed DCL 4 times now, I'm wondering would I be disappointed with RCCL?

Can anyone tell me what opening day prices for 2 adults and 1 x 2 yr old in an ocean view was for 2016?

Thanks, Stevey

They don't do much different. They have church service on board. Yes you will be disappointed with rccl. I did a 12 night cruise with them that left out of New Jersey my home state. They had 1 good show out of the 12 nights. I hoped it would be a good cruise since it was cheaper and left from my home state only a 2 hour drive but was very disappointed. If shows and characters don't mean much to you try rccl if they do u will be disappointed

Thanks, and sorry for the delay in replying. Really don't know what to do.
Does anyone know what month DCL have their release date for 2017 december dates?

I am hoping to book for October 2017 and was told the remainder of the 2017 cruise dates should be released anytime between March - May of 2016. Fingers crossed sooner than later! Always book on opening day if you can, rates tend to be cheaper.

I think the best approach may be to book, regardless of price, then digest the information etc, and can always cancel for a full refund if I deem it too much money. Would be nice being away over Christmas, bit of sunshine etc, rather than the cold and rain!

I had a look online at other resorts, e.g. Atlantis for a 7 night stay for 3 people, and the prices aren't that different.

We just got off a b2b Xmas cruise and I would recommend the experience. They have special activities for Xmas like Santa, mini-shows, and gingerbread decorating....and a holiday party in the kids club.

Xmas eve, there were special little gifts for us. Xmas mornings the characters were out for hours in their Xmas attire. A special gift for kids. Some special, surprises. I don't want to spoil it with specifics but it was fun.

We are doing royal Caribbean next Xmas and don't expect anything near as special as Disney.

We won't be doing Disney - even tho we loved it - because the price increased so, so much next holiday season. Royal is nearly half as much as Disney. And so - nice as it was - prefer to save several thousand dollars and give royal a chance. :)
