I am looking at summer 2006, either end of July or first two weeks of August. Does it make a difference?
I kind of figure hot is hot............

You are right; hot is hot! But if it were me choosing, I'd pick the two weeks in July over the two in August. August is just a bit more uncomfortable with humidity, and the rains come more often. Also, doesn't hurricane season start in August?

I teach and we have kids, so we are limited to summertime for our trips. We vacation in June. Second choice would be July, third would be August.

hurricane season is definitely at or close to peak in late August....

I would advise you to find the lowest pricing for a cruise within the months you have targeted, and choose that way...June, July, and August are all very very hot....luckily, the ship is wonderfully air conditioned, and many activities and excursions are water related...

It is uncomfortably hot on the pool deck? I was hoping there would at least be a nice breeze up there.

We went the end of July last year. I don't remember being uncomfortably hot on the pool deck, but it was miserable in Nassau. We had also done four days at WDW prior to the cruise and that was really hot (and crowded) too. I don't think we will be doing WDW in July (or August) again, but if you are only doing the cruise it wouldn't be as bad. I would probably go for July before August though.

I agree 100%. We did a 3 day cruise in July/Aug 03' and then a couple of park days afterward and it was miserable hot at the parks. The cruise wasn't to bad because, yes, there is a breeze on deck. Of course it is a HOT breeze, but a breeze none the less. We did our last vac. in Nov and the cruise weather was BEAUTIFUL.

I have to confess that the weather is one thing that I have been worried about for awhile now for our Jul 8th Eastern trip. Since we're going with friends, we're stuck on the date.

I really don't do well with heat but as long as the ship inside is kept nice and cool especially in the restaurants then I should be fine.

We did the Eastern in mid July 2001. I don't remember it being uncomfortably hot. My understanding is that temperatures are in the 80's year round. Then we did the Western in mid August 2003. It was very hot. We swam with the dolphins in Cozumel and I would have liked to walk around the park afterward, but it was so hot we just went back to the ship.

We cruised last July and it was hot and humid on about half of the days (and nights). The heat isn't bad, it's the humidity that's uncomfortable. There was little or no breeze on the verandah and it was only marginally better on deck.

Still had a great time though.

A couple of factors come into play here - the direction of the wind and the direction of the ship. On our last eastern cruise heading towards St. Maarten we were sailing at 20knts into a 20knt wind for a very strong breeze (at an effective 40+knts I beleive that it qualifies as a Gale force winds). On the way home we were sailing at 20knts with the 20knt wind and there was almost NO breeze up on deck.
