I'm just wondering if they still let you book a cruise for an earlier date, then transfer it to the correct dates when they become available. I did this way back in 02, for an 05 cruise.

I've been gone way to long but I still remember some of the old tricks.

Now you don't even book a specific cruise. You just pay a $250 placeholder and have 2 years to use it. Takes about 3 minutes with the agents and you're done, it's so easy now.

Do you mean using an onboard booking discount? If so, you can book a specific cruise while onboard (but don't have to, as you can also just book a placeholder), and you can later change that cruise to another if you like. But you can only keep the discount if the cruise you finally settle on sails within 24 months of the cruise you were on when booking. It also can't fall on a blackout date.

Just remember it is 730 days from the day you book the placeholder. 2020 is a leap year so that could come up if you try to book something exactly 2 years later.

As noted, for an onboard (future cruise) booking, you can just put $250 down on a placeholder and then assign it to a specific cruise later. One note - onboard booking perks (OBC, reduced fare/deposits) are only applicable to those (future) cruises that begin within 24 months of the placeholder deposit.

Of course, Shanti did say all this before I got mine posted..:teeth: (something weird with my computer - I don't see all replys before I post sometimes :confused3 )
