Cruise with 17 year old - suggestions please!

Yeah, I've always left it up to my kids. I'm a single Mom so it's not like I have to make time for a spouse or anything.

I will say, Vibe looks like a cool place to just chill even if she wanted to get some time away from y'all. A cafe, some quiet little nooks to read, arcade games...and on Dream & Fantasy it even has a private pool just for the teens. It really is a nice space that they can enjoy by themselves without having to partake in group activities.

Thank you for the suggestions! My daughter is shy and won't go to the teen clubs, which is why I won't be able to leave her to enjoy the adult only areas. Good to know the quiet pool can be a good spot, as well as Deck 4. What about Castaway Cay? What is the best spot for us to shoot for there? Again, we are looking for a quiet place to relax without lots of little ones. I've done my time with the littles, and they're adorable, but we're hoping for a more adult theme this time around. Thank you!!
We found that if you go to the second beach, as far as you can go before you hit the cabanas, it is quieter. Most people hop into the first hammocks and chairs they see!

I believe in rules - and following them. But I would make an exception and take a quiet shy 17+ yo to Serenity Bay. Of course, it can make a difference if she is small or looks very young.

There is no need to go to the adult beach with someone under 18. You can find chairs to sit in elsewhere if you wander enough. If you really want quiet and very few kids on Castaway Cay day, you can go back to the ship and hang out in one of lounges — as mentioned, the lounges in the “adult” entertainment area don’t become adults-only until evening, but they rarely have kids unless there’s a program going on.

We definitely want to enjoy the beach at Castaway and not stay inside the ship. The funny thing is, my 20 year old looks very young, and my 17 year old looks much older! Going to the second beach is a good tip. I'm guessing, as with most things Disney, getting to the beach early is the best bet for a good spot on the beach? Again, thanks for the kind suggestions and pro tips!

Not necessarily. Sometimes it is nice to enjoy the quiet of the ship and go out later to avoid the rush. By end of day, spaces clear up as people go back to the ship. Especially if you are on the Magic, since there are a lot less passengers.

My 16 year old daughter sounds a lot like your daughter. She has never really cared for the clubs (my son on the other hand...). She mostly enjoys relaxing in our room/veranda, but she does enjoy playing Bingo and seeing the shows and movies. And the food...she loves the food. I can't wait until she turns 18 and I have a buddy for the adult areas!
My 16 year old daughter loves the clubs BUT I absolutely can't wait for her to turn 18 and I have a buddy to hang out with in the adult only areas! <3

What is the quiet pool? If you mean the Cove Pool, that is adults-only and the 17-yr-old won't be allowed to lounge in that area.

OP - if you are looking for indoor spaces, the nightclubs aren't adult-only until evening and they are often very quiet during the day. If you want outdoor spots, I agree with deck 4 is good. At Castaway head to the 2nd family beach, even though closer to Pelican Plunge it is usually much less busy than the 1st family beach area.
There is a family quiet pool on Deck 12. It is right behind the funnel vision TV. I think the pool is the Funnel Puddle pool.
