I have literally just realised I'm down to single digit

sorry, back to my question, as you will see from my countdown we've only got 9 days before we fly off to the world. We have 18 days before we sail but I haven't received my Disney cruise tickets yet! should I be worried?

did you book the cruise direct with Disnet Cruise Line or using a travel agent ?

That was my first question too. When we booked with Virgin they came a week before our cruise. When we've booked through DCL they came with 3 weeks to go.

I know how you're feeling, we are at WDW for 10 days before the Cruise in January and with the Christmas post I'm a little worried that they won't be here on time

The good news is that you can fill all your details on-line through the DCL website for check-in etc, then print them off and take them with you

I hope you have a fantastic holiday and Cruise

Mandy :)

I booked it through Dreams Unlimited. When I emailed them all they said was that Disney usually send tickets out 21 days before hand.

Mandy, I have actually done all the online stuff but would that be enough? don't we need actual tickets as well?

Hi - the items that you have filled in 0n-line are basically what you will receive when you get your tickets. You will get a small booklet where you need to fill in the same details as the ones required on-line. We did this, this year and just took the printed items along with us.
We did not get our tickets in time last year, we were staying at Saratoga for a week before the cruise, I contacted DCL and they sent replacement tickets to the Saratoga for us ....
I am sure that Mandy will be able to clarify but I am sure that if you check in on line and then print off you will have all of the required documentation.

Yes I think that's everything, the only thing you won't have are your luggage tags, but I'm sure you'll be able to pick some up at the Port

This is the first time that we've done on-line check in and because of that I'm not panicking too much about the tickets not arriving

BTW Ann-Marie, what have you got planned onboard ie excursions, Palo, etc

Mandy :)

We emailed DCL because we were concerned that we were leaving the UK 2 weeks before the cruise, and they emailed back to say they would leave the tickets at the port to be collected. We just picked up luggage tags when we got to the port, and then our tickets. There are only a couple of forms to fill in if you have done the online check in, and it only took about 5 minutes.

I just wanted to wish you safe travels. I am very jealous  - I would love to see the ship decorated for christmas.

If you have completed the online docs - make sure you take print outs of this with you to hand in.

Im sure you will have a brilliant time!

We had our tickets 2 and a half weeks before sail date - they came by UPS (and needed signing for) - but as others have said, its no problem if you don't get them.

Some reminders for UK cruisers though ;

Make sure your travel insurance covers your cruise and that you have declared it to your insurers (some add cruise cover free to your policy and some charge a small amount extra). Don't automatically assume you are covered by normal travel insurance - Just think how many $$$s it would cost for a start, if you had to be air lifted off the ship, and your travel insurance subsequently decided that you were not covered by them !!!

They will ask you at the port for your proof of exit from the USA (ie. written confirmation of the details of your flight home) so take along your flight / holiday booking details as supplied by your travel agent or airline company.

Take along your credit card - you cannot pay by cash on board, or at Castaway Cay..you open an onboard account using your credit card and then pay at the end.

Take all your photo ID driving licences for adults in your party, or remember to ask them to photocopy all adult passports at checkin (they take away and keep foreigners' passports for the duration of the cruise) - otherwise you will not be able to get off the ship whilst in port !

Have a great holiday :sunny:

We were in WDW for two weeks before we did our 10 day Southern in September so we phoned DCL and arranged for our tickets etc to be ready for collection in Old Key West.

When we checked-in and asked if there was a package for us, we were asked to wait a moment. After a short time a "suit" came out and made a big deal out of presenting the tickets for the "first special 10 day cruise to the southern Caribbean with Disney Cruise Line". We were VERY impressed.

Thanks for the reassurance, it would be nice to have actual tickets before leaving but as I've done all the stuff on-line I guess I at least know my booking is there.

Mandy, this is my Christmas gift for DH and DDs who know nothing about it and won't be told till the 23rd (day before we sail) so I haven't booked any excursions, I thought I'd let them decide what they'd like to do for themselves, hopefully if there is anything they really want to do we will still be able to book it! I have however enrolled youngest DD into the club, whether she goes or not remains to be seen, and I have booked Palo for DH and I which I'm really looking forward to.

Hey, what a great surprise !!!!!

For our cruise this Feb., we didn't tell our kids anything about it (it was their dream to go on one) - we told them we were going to the beach for a few days !....sort of true... :rotfl2:

Even when we got to port we just said we were taking a break to look round the Cruise Ship Museum (there isn't one)..finally, when we'd sneakily booked in, I gave my DS the little card they give you that says "welcome aboard , your cabin no. is ....... bon voyage" and got him to read it out loud to his sister.

Well, it took several readings before the penny dropped, and there were two English kids whooping around the terminal buiding like mad things !!!

Well done you on keeping the secret - I know how hard it is !!!

Have a really fab time :cheer2:

This is a great thread ~ we will be in WDW before we go on our cruise and I just know nearer the time I would have been panicing.

Have a ball :wizard:

I surprized the kids this year as well
didn't tell them untill we were at the port
I had silents , not a word , they just didn't believe me
I didn't book anything either, but was able to book on board no problem

I have a small report done on the TR board
3 in 1 holiday , have a look

Have a great time and remember enjoy WDW as well
any last minute quesetion just ask

Just again to reaasure you, we booked with Virgin and told to pick up the tickets at the port, just make sure you have your luggage labels, these can be picked up from the Disney Cruise Line rep at most Disney resorts, and that you do all your online check-in!

BTW, despite being a cashless ship, you dont need a credit card if you dont have one! You can settle your account with cash (US $)!
