Cruise...Seattle-Ketchikan, Alaska-Vancouver

I asked this on the cruise line board, but since this board gets so many hits, and my question ISN'T Disney cruise related, I thought I'd run it by here as well.

Has anyone cruised to Alaska, or the Pacific Northwest? Can you give me any info on Ketchikan, or excursions? If we stay 2 days in Vancouver, what are the 'must sees'?

Vancouver, dont miss Stanley Park, Chinatown, and take a Seabus just cause theyre fun


If you want to have an excursion in Vancouver you can always go to Victoria thats a lot of fun.

I've done an Alaska cruise twice with my family, both Royal Caribbean and both levaing from Vancouver.

Ketchikan was very nice - I think I remember going on a totem excursion. We went to a place they make totem poles, and a guide showed us how they're made and what each thingie means and some of the stories behind the poles. It was very cool!

Hmmm, elsewhere - we did Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau. My sisters did a cool biking trip in Skagway, while Mom, Dad and I went to the Gold Rush Village. Mom fell in Skagway on our first trip and ripped the ligments in her leg! We were on a van tour then.

I think we went to Sitka once, but can't remember what we did. I know in Haines, we just walked around the village.

We're cruising in a little over 2 weeks. In Ketchikan the must do is Misty Fjords flightseeing. The most highly recommended company is Island Wings although they were booked up so we're going with Misty Fjords Air .
