I was just told by cruise.com that I could pre-register for my cruise online to save time at the port. I tried the site they gave me (disneycruises.com) but it doesn't work.

Has anyone registered online before their cruise? (if so, please put in the link) Thanks.

Unless this is something they just added then no you cannot register or pre-register online for a DCL cruise.

The website for them is www.disneycruise.com if you want to look for yourself

I wasn't aware that this option existed yet. It is likely pretty new. The main site for Disney Cruise Lines is:

http://www.disneycruise.com/

You can register for the site, but that just gives you access to some of the site's features, such as comparision shopping. I was unable to find a pre-registering option for a booked cruise, although I admittedly did not look very long or hard.

You can do many things at the DCL site, but none of them save you time with check in at the port. You can arrange excursions on line--this may be what she was referring to.

You can "register" at the site, but that has nothing to do with registering (check-in) at the port.

I just went to get my documents at my TA's office yesterday. She also said I could pre-register on-line. She looked on the site for me and said "oh maybe not, It must just be for the other cruise lines because they all started doing this". Maybe someday Disney will to.

Whatever will happen to the document dance?

Even with other lines where you register online (my experience is Royal Caribbean), you still get documents and you still have to register at the port. They just have some more information about you on file. I'd guess it saved me a couple of minutes, max. So dance away when the docs come!!

Last month I was on the NCL Dawn and we had to pre-register online or complete this form and fax/mail it in at least two weeks prior to the cruise. All we had to do at the port was show our passports, give them our credit card for on-board purchases and have our picture taken.

Well I am Canadian and was taking a cruise from L.A. to Mexico so I did have to surrender my passport. Maybe it takes longer to check in because of that. I didn't think it was that long but maybe you're right, by having all of that information in advance, they just have to match you up with your ID etc.

I figure since Disney just put reservations online for WDW, that perhaps the cruises aren't far behind.
