We're thinking of going on our first Disney Cruise in May and have decided to pay cash. As DVC members and AP holders are there any deals or special purchase programs we should look into?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

If you can wait the 2011 cruises on the Disney Dream are much cheaper. We had a June 2010 cruise booked and when we checked the 2011 cruise for the same date, same length of days, same ports, and better room it was $2000 dollars cheaper for our family of four. It was so easy to switch too, it literally took 2 minutes and they just transferred the original $400 dollar deposit to the new cruise!

No discounts for DVC or AP holders.:sad2: Best advice is to book just as far out as you possibly can for the best pricing.

Before DVC, we used Dreams Unlimited (a sponsor of this site) and have always received a $200 (or more) stateboard credit. Also, I've read that AAA and Costco have discounted prices on the cruise and a stateboard credit so you might want to check either of those out to get a quote if you are a member. Also, keep an eye on the disneycruise website - in the past year there hvae been a lot of good deals floating around there too. Happy planning! :goodvibes

I recently got a quote for a Nov 2011 Disney Dream 3-day cruise from Dreams Unlimited and was surprised how reasonable the rate was for us (family of 2) for a cat 9 oceanview. Before I booked, I called a travel agent my family has been booking cruises with for years and he got me the cat 8 family oceanview (which is bigger) for about $400 less! Dreams Unlimited was offering a $50/staterooom credit, so that little credit wasn't worth booking with them.

The moral of the story is -- shop around!!!
