Cruise Lines to start charging for room service, (not DCL, so far)

So I'm confused....
is room service free/ included if i want to order something??
Hubby doesn't like crowds, so for the sail away party, I was thinking of ordering 2 hands on deck platters and sitting on our verandah to enjoy it
so i could order that and the cost is not extra??
I tried seeing the costs on the menu, but there are none! do i just give a few dollars to the person who delivers it for a tip?

As thread title states, DCL has not made this change, or at least not yet. Most things from room service are free. There are a few things that you must pay for and those items are identified on the menu. Sodas from room service are not free, I believe because they are canned sodas and not from a fountain. There is some packaged candy on the menu that is an extra charge. The All Hands on Deck platters are free. As you mention, just tip the person delivering the food.

Good to know, thank you.... i have never cruised before, so just expected that room service food would have a cost like I am used to in hotels, etc... good thing to know about soda, etc.... however we are concierge level so I guess I can go grab a free can of soda from the lounge :)
Thanks for the info
