This may sound a little silly - whether or not to go on a Disney Cruise - obviously go, right!?!?!

Anyway - we have been on three Disney Cruises previously. All have been with groups of people. DH and I are considering going on our first cruise with just the two of us. We are both in our late 20's. We have done the 7-day Eastern and 2-4days. We now want to go on the Western.

Should I just shut up and go?

I honestly never paid attention before, but I think what I am worried about is dinner companions. Are there other younger couples sailing alone?

Thanks for your input!

Kelly

Shut up and go!

I have heard of many people taking their honeymoons on DCL.

I am sure you can put in a request with DCL to be seated with another younger couple.

There are so many adult-only activities available, I am sure you will have a fantastic time.

We've sailed as a couple alone 10 x, and still keep in touch with many of the people we've met on our various cruises. Sometimes, we didn't really click with anyone we'd meet on board, so we'd hang out together, and that was fine, too. I wouldn't worry about it. If you've enjoyed your previous cruises, then there's no reason why you won't enjoy another, even if you're not part of a larger group.

After sailing with our kids and my whole family, DH & I went back alone. It was my 30th birthday gift and DH was 33. We had a great time! Go for it!

Go have a great cruise. Disney is great about matching tablemates. Kathy

From your lips to God's ears!!!

Do it! We sailed as a couple a year ago, and requested a table for 4 - so that we would be seated with another couple. DCL paired us with another younger couple just about our age (who just happened to be DISers as well) - perfect! :teeth:

Hi,

My DH and I sailed on our own in sept 2002, we had a great time, so much so we've booked again for may 2004.

As a couple we were allocated late dinner seating and shared our table with three couples. Everyone at the table was great but we clicked with one couple in particular and still keep in touch with them.

DCL is great because it has an adult only pool, restaurant and bar area, where we met loads of great couples.

For our cruise in may we are arranging a Dismeet and have an e-mail loop, as it's a great way of getting to know a few people before you cruise.

Go for it, you'll have a great time :sunny:

My Dh and I both early 40's just got back from the 2/7 and we had a table of 10. There were 5 couples and the age range was mid 20's to late 50's.
We usually sat next to the cuople in the early 30's.
Disney tries really hard to pair people together.

:bounce:

My fiance and I are absolutely thrilled that part (3 Day Wonder Sept.2/04) of our honeymoon will be on the ship (+ 7 days at WDW). Everyone I have talked to that went as a couple has thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Enjoy!!

Definitely go. Hubby and I go alone all the time (well, I WISH all the time literally). I took Mom once.

DH and I requested alone seating once and were granted the request. You can request a table for four-- but preferably alone. Then on embarkation day, go to Dining Changes and see if your request was granted. If not, I'm sure they'll fix it for you. This is what hubby and I will do next time unless we meet someone on the boards that we'd like to sit with.

hmmmmmm...not always. First cruise (our honeymoon) we were seated with 3 other families with teenage daughters. Where were all the honeymooners then and why weren't we seated with them?

I vote with the majority and say go for it!

My boyfriend and I have sailed on four Disney cruises so far and have three booked for this year. We have sailed alone, as a couple, twice and are sailing that way on the three upcoming voyages. It's just bliss! :)

As far as the dining companions are concerned, we attempt to meet people on the Dis board prior to sailing and then link our reservations. We've had nothing but great luck with this and hope to continue our run in the future!

Hope you both enjoy your cruise and your alone-time! :)

DH and I are both in our 20s (mid) and are sailing alone on the 7-day Magic. Although we don't have children, we enjoy other people's children, so I think it will be fabulous!

Just go!!
