This is the response I got from Member Services. I am going on this year's member cruise and wondered why I did not get insurance when I booked. Well, this is the response I just got regarding booking next year's cruise and cruise insurance.

Welcome Home Barbara,

Thank you for contacting DISNEY VACATION CLUB®.

We appreciate your interest in travel insurance. If you are paying all
cash for a reservation on the 2015 Member Cruise, we will not be
offering DISNEY'S CRUISE LINE'S® travel insurance. Once the reservation
is confirmed, you can call TravelEx to see how much they would charge to
cover the reservation. Information is available either by calling
Travelex at 1-877-886-4664, Monday - Friday: 8AM-5PM CST or visit
www.travelexinsurance.com for alternative insurance needs.

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

Thank you,

Larry

Interesting and a bizarre policy IMO.

We just booked at Transatlantic with DCL for September 2015 and we found if we don't book our airfare through Disney their insurance won't cover it. So we temporarily booked air through DCL and later when airfare prices are available, we will determine if it's cheaper to book our air separately. We have used Travelguard in the past.
