I just got my quote from AAA and the guy said that FL resident rate only come out 3 months prior to the sail date.....what happens if you book and then they offer a FL resident rate? And what is the discount typically? Especially in December?

I'm not sure, but this agency advertises their Florida residents rates into 2004:

http://www.allseastravel.com/

I know DCL offers FL / GA resident's rates during non-peak times, but we never knew what they were going to be much more than few months out. We book, then get the discount when they come out (before final payment is due). Last year (2003) the FL discount rates were available for up until first sailing in June (we sailed June 7). After that, I think they may have expired for the summer season?

If you go by what AllSeasTravel advertises and presume they advertise what they have available, then three months seems about right. Either way, final payment is due at 60 days, and if the reduced rate is available at 90 days, then your outstanding balance would be reduced. The amount depends on the length of your cruise, cabin category, and number and ages of persons in your cabin.

The AAA representative was correct. Florida Resident Rates are usually only announced about three months prior to sailing.

Out of four cruises, we've been able to get Florida Resident Rates on each one. Sometimes these rates have been as low as $599 per person. With that said, we've only been able to secure these about three months in advance and have done so through Disney Cruise Line directly.

If you book at a higher rate, and Florida Resident Rates come out, just call Disney Cruise Line or your travel agent and have them re-book for the lower rate. Keep in mind however, that Florida Resident Rates are usually only offered on certain cabin categories; generally, only on categories 10 and 11.

Keep an eye on the All Seasons website (link given above). We didn't get our Florida Resident rate until less than two months before our cruise this November. I had already paid in full, but DCL refunded the difference. We were in a Category 6 stateroom, as well. And looking at the All Seasons site, it looks like most categories DO have Florida Resident discounts, at least for this round of discounting. :D

we've gotten FL Resident rate on all of our cruises....we always book cat. 9, and our TA is gracious enough to apply this substantial discount to our existing res the moment it comes out...(I have to remind him however)

We are sailing March 21. We booked our cruise with Dreams Unlimited and they said they would keep checking for us. Do they offer Florida Resident discounts in March? I know it's a busy time to cruise because of Spring Break.
I just praying for some pixie dust!!!!!

My boyfriend's entire family lives in Florida. They want to have a family reunion on the Disney ship and him and I are the only ones that don't live in Florida. His mom wants to pay for it all but she was wondering if she could get the discount for us too, considering she is paying or does everyone have to have a Florida license to get the discount? Thanks.

we were on the july 4th cruise, which is considered to be in very high season (fully booked) and even on that cruise they had florida resident discounts.....
boy do i wish we lived in florida....but not for the discounts...so that we really could live at WDW and spend the weekends on the Wonder.....talk about a perfect life...

Pooh

I have heard you must have one Florida Resident in each stateroom to qualify. You don't have to end up sleeping that way, just make your reservations that way. If I'm wrong, please correct me.

I've been obsessively checking allseastravel for MONTHS! We are booked on 4-day Wonder 3/14/04 - so of course they have only listed discounts through the end of Feb.

I only booked what I thought we could afford, but it would be SO NICE to either get a better room for the same price or spend the $$ on some other part of our vacation!

Is a discount in the middle of March too much to hope for??

I just got an email from Tammy with DU. They are still waiting for any possible discounts to post. She said Disney could not give her any more information. I guess we'll have to keep our fingers and toes crossed:genie:

Has anyone ever gotten FL resident rates for a week that included Christmas?
