Cruise Curmudgeons of the World Unite

My favorite is when people respond to these by posting "No" and move on. If you can't help the person, why do you bother to post?

I have found over time that some people actually think they are showing that they are being engaged in the conversation by doing that.

Lorelei - I was thinking about your question and I'm wondering if posters believe it's an "easy" way to rack up post counts?

I really feel like starting a thread on the cruise board "Will Mickey Bars Make me Gassy?"

I'm not going to, but I'm in just that sort of mischievous mood.

I don't know, does anyone around here have an ingredients list?

Only if you plan to eat it while wearing shorts to dinner on formal night. It's a new way to encourage abiding by Disney's attire recommendations. If cruise line guidance doesn't work maybe some post-tooting peer pressure might.

There are so many things I want to ask on the cruise board but daren't.

Though I think it would be mighty amusing.

You should, Ian, just to stir the pot. :thumbsup2 And for our entertainment.

As much as I would love to, I won't. It will probably start some great debate, evolve into a brawl and only end in tears.

On the other hand I may start a thread that I read somewhere that DCL is going to start enforcing the laws of physics. I bet I'll stir up a real can of bees with that one.

"How dare they start enforcing gravity!"

Holly, be our guest --- stir the pot!!!!

The new DCL "law" about not being able to get into the port at PC before 11 am will be a stirrable issue.

Jan

That one needs no help from me.

I really love this thread...makes me feel like I am not alone in the world of DIS. Sometimes I have to shake my head and bite my tongue because the urge to post something is taking over me....but like Ian said, don't want to stir the pot! LOL!!!! But if you guys start it, I will chime in! LOL!:lmao:

I just saw this thread. Love it! I'm accused of curmudgeonly behavior all the time.

So, what's wrong with an adult having a stuffy or two? That's what Mrs. Tex and I call our 200+ stuffed family members. There are a lot of koalas -- always in pairs, mind you -- but everything else under the sun as well. All chosen based on personality, and all Christmas gifts between Mrs. Tex and I. They all have names, habits, likes, dislikes, and personal histories, too.

No, they don't belong to DS21. He has his own collection. Not as large as ours, but he's young yet. He's working on it.

We would NEVER bring them on a cruise or other vacation, though. They can darned well make their own reservations! Besides, they probably wouldn't be interested in the places we tend to go anyhow.

There's nothing wrong with having stuff animals. There's nothing wrong with taking them on a cruise. Odd perhaps but not wrong.

I myself take my favorite garlic press onboard. I've made several costumes for it from beachwear to something daring for pirate night.

The garlic press loves the adult pool and often saves a lounger or two for me.

I suspect that the garlic press is starting to have a bit too good a time. On the last cruise it ordered several Mimosas.

Yeah, I used to have a thimble I'd dress up and take with me everywhere. I even had a set of mouse ears made for it, but I found out it was cheating on me with a teaspoon, and got rid of it.

This thread is hilarious!!

I sincerely hope I see adults carrying around 'familiar's with them on the boat!!! :rotfl2:

Now if you bring a familiar with you to dinner, does it have to abide by the dress code too? Cause I just don't know if I can find a formal dress for my tigger's size and it's just going to be so hard to find space in my suitcase for all these extra outfits.

I have to tell you how scary it was on our Disney cruise in January to Mexico. There was a lady that had a stuffed polar bear and surprisingly I didn't see her until we were in customs leaving but this bear was big enough that she would have had to bought it a seat if she was flying. It wasn't even a Disney character. Just a VERY LARGE white bear. I am so glad I didn't run into her on the cruise. It was HUGE! Why would someone do something like that?? But there she was, carrying it, bumping into people and things, it was awful. :confused3

It is a tad quirky.
