Crud...I wasted EE on breakfast at Tusker House. So, a question...

I somehow lost my mind and booked our breakfast at Tusker House at 8:05 on a morning that the park opens at 8. ARGH!!! I asked the CM at DD for a time before the park opened. I didn't THINK to check to make sure it wasn't an EE morning.

So, here's my question. How early do they start Fast Passes? Can I have my son run out at 8, go grab 3 Fast Passes for us, then come back and finish his meal???

Would that be of any value?

I'm going to get to the park as early as possible...maybe we can get in to eat a few minutes early and won't waste the entire hour.

Advice? Do I do the FP or call DD today and try to rebook the breakfast for our last day at Disney?

The closer the trip gets, the more of these little flaws I'm discovering!

See if you can reschedule your ADR for 10:30. That way, you can enjoy the park for a couple of hours and work up an appetite.

I would do the commando thing. Get there really early, be first in line for EE, ride it and get fastpasses, then go to your beakfast a few minutes late - tell them you got stampeded by crazy people running to EE and Safari!

Yes, send the lad out for fastpasses. That's what they're for..right?!

Or you could try to rebook the ADR to later time.

I'm pretty sure FPs don't get distributed until official opening, even on EMH mornings. So, you could keep your ADR and still make it to EE to get one of the first FPs. Of course, the park will be hopping by the time you're done eating, but FPs will still be available.

This excuse doesn't work. We were at the "we're next to get in the boat" part of the line at SM. I timed it perfectly to make it to our ADR at LTT and someone was fooling around causing the sensors to stop the ride, causing us to get on the ride later, causing us to show up 15 mins past our ADR and we lost it!! I was so mad! So don't even try it, if you're late, they give away your table.


I would change the ADR to a later breakfast and do some EE first! Then you can get a FP right before you go to breakfast and ride again after.

I was just kidding.

I have 3 boys and they were often designated as our FP runners. But others are right....it's tough to give away early park time to a sit down breakfast. That's why so many just snack in room or light breakfast at resort. I'm sure if you're persistant you can change your ADR to later.

i would definitely change the ADR to the latest possible seating! we have always found that we get the best character interaction that way (less crowded restaurant)... so it would be a win/win for you!

Nah, we always prefer the 1st breakfast of the morning, if you go for a lter breakfast they can be backed up and you have to wait much longer than your ressie time (we had to wait an extra 45 mins at CP when we did this), send the boy out for fastpasses - that's what kids are for right?

Just an FYI - In my expirience they don't let early breakfast reservation people in early on EMH days. The park opens at 8:00AM for everyone and then you make your way to the restaurant. My expirience in only at MK so it may be different, but from your post it sounded as if you expected to be inside the AK before 8:00 and that's not been my expirience

I didn't know about the no early entry on EE days. This ADR has been a major pain since I made it. First the CM at DD told me that I had to go to the TTC and get a wristband before proceding to AK. She said that I needed it to get in early.

That was different from the policy last time we were there, so I posted here then called to double check. The second CM said what everyone here said...just show up with my ressy number and I'd be in. In fact, she suggested I be to the park half an hour prior to my seating time.

Based on that, I was thinking we needed to be to the park by 7:35 at the latest.

HM. I'm going to check on all this again. This is the only character meal we're doing and I don't want to miss it, but I don't want to waste EE, either.

BTW...I am gleefully celebrating the fact that my older son is turning 13. Along with a nonstop growth spurt and odd new facial hair, he is going to be taking on a lot more responsibility. Besides, he is way more spatially oriented than I am...he's always collected maps because they're "fun". And, anyway, I figure that any 13 year old who could get lost at a Disney park isn't worth keeping around anyway, right?

Okay...note to self...call for a new ADR!!!!

I guess I wasted an EE. I guess I should be thankful that it was at Animal Kingdom and not one of the other parks. We'd pretty much been shooting for being out of the park by noon or 1 at the latest. We can stay longer if we need to.

Neither of my boys will do Everest, and from what I've heard about Dinosaur I don't think they'd like it, even if they think differently. (This is based on an experience just last year at the Science Museum in St. Louis.) They also won't do TTBAB. We've tried that twice and left as soon as the spiders dropped both times.

So, for us I guess a wasted early entry day at AK won't be a tragedy. Lesson, learned, however: always have the EMH information in front of you when booking ADRs. Don't assume that asking for a time before the park opens will truly get you a time before the park opens!
