I made a reservation at CRT and they needed my credit card #. The total came to like $107. Are they going to charge my card for the total or just put a hold on it? What does putting a hold on my card mean? When we have our meal at CRT do I have to pay using that card or can I pay cash? Thanks

They are just going to use the card to hold the reservation. They will not charge it. If you fail to show up or don't cancel in the requested amount of time they will charge the card, but otherwise it's just to hold the ressie. That is what the CM told me when I had to use mine. I worried about he same thing.

This is not correct regarding CRT. That restaurant is supposed to take payment in full at booking.

Akershus' princess meal has a credit card hold and a no-show fee, but you don't prepay for that one.

They told me we would be charged in advance and for a full refund we would need to call and cancel 24 hrs ahead of the scheduled reservation time.

Charged @ booking both times. I was under the impression that's the way they handled CRT.

We are on the deluxe dining plan and they did not charge our credit card for our breakfast at the castle in early October. The customer service rep said we would only be charged if we did not cancel / or show up for our reservation. They merely took the card number as a guarantee. Hope this helps! :)

They may do that for the dining plan reservations only. The OP did not say whether or not they are on the dining plan.

Hmmm I just made a reservation last week for Sept and they told me they were not charging it. The only time they would charge it is if we failed to cancel and/or show up.

We are on the DP that trip.

Your right the poster did not mention if they were or were not on the dining plan. I was just posting what our experience was, with being on the dining plan. Only trying to help...

It's not that, it's that we've had several conflicting posts about whether people are expected to pay in full or put down a credit card guarantee for CRT. As far as I know, the policy is to pay in full at booking, but the conflict could be that some posters are using the dining plan and some aren't. Because dining plan guests aren't paying with cash but with dining plan credits, it would make sense for them to have a credit card guarantee to prevent no-shows, but guests who are on the dining plan wouldn't have to be charged.

CRT is a pre paid event, in other words payment will be taken at booking. Only exception is if you are on a dine plan. Then your card is held as a guarantee only.
