CRT refund question

Hi all,

We just returned from our Disney trip. When I originally made the reservations for CRT six months prior to our trip, we did not have the DDP yet so the full amount for the 6 of us went on my AMEX. We purchased the DDP about two weeks prior to our trip and everything went fine and we used the dining plan for that meal as well as our others. I'm assuming Disney refunds my AMEX automatically correct? How long should that take? We just ate there on Thursday so it's only been a few days but I want to make sure I wasn't supposed to have them do something for me when I was there. I have the receipt showing the entitlements were used (actually only shows 4 adult and 2 kids but should say 8 adult and 4 kids right)? Anyway, do I need to call or will they refund me automatically?

1. Did you let your server know you were changing the form of payment? That you originally paid with a credit card, but now you want to use dining credits instead?

I would go online or call to check your Amex account to see if the refund was made. Disney is pretty quick about putting through refunds, but it also depends on how quickly Amex posts it to your account. Often Disney will say to allow 2 billing cycles, but I've never had it take that long.

2. Are you saying they only deducted a total of 4 adult credits and 2 child credits (meaning for only 2 adults and 1 child total)? Or are you looking at the main part of the receipt that shows 4 adult meals and 2 children's meals were ordered. I don't recall anywhere on the receipt that says "you used xx adult and xx child credits for this meal." At the bottom of the receipt it will show how many TS credits you have left. If you have your receipt from the TS meal immediately before CRT, you can compare what is listed at the bottom of that receipt and then the bottom of the CRT receipt to find out how many credits were deducted at CRT.
 
A few years ago I booked CRT and my card was charged despite having the DP already on my ressie. Just a hiccup in the system didn't coordinate it correctly or something, so I had to call to get it switched and process my refund. This all happened prior to our trip.

I would definitely call.
