CRT Question

I apologize in advance if this has been answered repeatedly, but I couldn't find a good search result: I made an ADR with cc for CRT for seven people. I think we are now down to 4.

Can I modify the ADR to drop down to 4 people without risking losing the reservation (without having to cancel and rebook behind any waitlists). It would be nice to get back the money for the missing 3, but my brother will kill me if it results in our losing the reservation . . .

I don't think there is a standard answer to this. Usually, you can drop people, but it may not always be available depending on the restaurant. I don't recall any large tables at CRT. They have the bench seating along walls with tables that they put together for large parties. I can't recall a large table in the middle of the restaurant so it makes me think that you will be able to, but there is no way to know for sure unless you call and ask.

If you don't like the answer you get the first time. Try again. Sometimes, it depends on the CM you get.

ETA: I suppose you could get around this by changing the age of 3 guests to *2 and under if you can't take people off. Or if you can't delete guests, you might find a family of 3 who would be head over heals to get a last minute ADR to join you at CRT. You might try asking on this board if anyone fits that criteria and wants those 3 seats. It will take a level of trust b/t you and said family, and I'd be sure to get payment before you go.

I had to make changes in June. Call them and tell them know you need to modify the number. Also let them know you do not want to chance losing your spot. They had to get a supervisor involved & it took a little time, but it was doable. My best advice, be patient, and if the 1st CM can't/won't just say thank you and call again. I truly did not have any problems doing this, BUT it was NOT a quick phone call. It's always easier going down in numbers Good Luck!
