I have a dilemma...which would you choose: Cinderella's Royal Table or Hoop De Doo Revue?
This would be on our break day...going to try to do the Family Magic Tour at MK in the morning. So, I was thinking about Cinderella's Royal Table for lunch around 1:15 or so.
I tried to make the reservation online and it let me go through the whole process, but then wanted credit card and we're on the dining plan...so, not sure how that works?? I called to make the reservation and was told that the system was down and to try again later.
While I'm waiting to call back I started thinking...I need to find a 2TS meal, because of the way that our days are scheduled....
Now, I'm thinking about HDD instead...it's available for the 5pm show the same day.
What do you think?? It's myself, DH, DD (9) and DS (4). DD is not really into the princesses anymore. I was thinking CRT because we've never been and it's something I've wanted to do...
But with HDD, everyone might have more fun...just not sure about the timing and how difficult it is to get there and back with Disney transportation....

Personally I would pick HDD. IMO the food is better but it all comes down to if you want a nice family meal vs good old fashion country western singers, dancers and comedians. Be prepared for slapstick, corny jokes and lots of singing and dancing, which gets very loud at times and has audience involvement so if you and your family are outgoing I say go for it, if not stick to CRT. Either way I hope your family had a great trip!

Got to CRT then, otherwise you'll second guess yourself forever.

Given your family I would definitely do HDDR. It is great fun for the whole family and I think your kids will love it. The food is excellent "down home cooking" and all you care to eat. The show is Western themed and performed by a troupe of lively, talented castmembers.
We were just there in October and we had a blast. The comedy is slapstick and some of the jokes are a bit corny, but fun. There is a fair amount of audience participation too.
It is not too difficult to get to. Most probably your best bet is to take a resort bus to the MK and then the boat to Fort Wilderness. Pioneer Hall is an easy walk from the boat dock. You do need to leave time for the trip, but we did not feel it was burdensome at all.
Have a Great Trip

I too would pick HDDR but I haven't done CRT yet. I don't know if it matters but wine, beer and sangria are included at the HDDR. Not sure if alchohol is is included at CRT and as the other posts have said HDDR is more of a vaudeville type show than just a character dinner. Good Luck!

CRT is one of the things you have to do at least once. My DD is also 9 and outgrowing the princesses but still love to go to CRT because it is "The Castle."

I do both and the luau SPELLING...

I always brag about the hoop . so my inlaws went with us once and they hated it, ( they are tight A$$es) but me and the kids love the hoop.. its great , 10 years and seen it about 14 times so far.. SIX BIT makes the show!!

My vote is for CRT....

I just put CRT in a category all it's own...

Now I do plan to do HDD my next visit....but if i can get ressies....I will ALSO do CRT....

My DS is now 17....been to WDW 10 times....and LOVES CRT.....

HUGS,
Mary

I have done both several times. That is a very tough choice. We LOVE the HDD and the food is awesome and although we have seen the show more than 10 times we still love it every time!
CRT is a must do at least once. The food is less than average for us but the experience is great. It is even better if you can be there during Wishes, it just makes the experience even more magical. The inside of the castle is as beautiful as you would expect.
I think you have a tough choice but if you are looking for food quality and experience go for HDD. If you want to eat in the castle and appreciate the magic of Disney do CRT.

CRT lunch each of the last three trips. This past trip in June my wife and I discussed skipping it on the next. After seeing our daughter's reaction at CRT my suggested we go again next trip.

It's pretty obvious we think the meal is worth the money. The food is not haute cuisine, but I really like the Major Domo's Favorite Pie. I always feel satisified after we eat there. The peice may be a little high for the food but it includes the photos, princesses and the atmosphere.

That being said, we will probably skip it a couple of trips when my daughter is not so into princesses. The Belle restaurant should be open by then.

From these boards the HDD gets better reviews from the money. My sister took 5 kids this summer ages 10-16 and they had a blast at HDD.

You have to do CRT once and it's hard to get an ADR for it....but the HDR is hands down worth the money. I have two daughters and we've been to HDR 3-4 tiems and CRT twice. And CRT has some funky selections for lunch. Not bad selections, just different.

HDR is entertaining and has great food and unlimited drinks...which is the added bonus! I'm 29 and the show is still amusing after being to it 5-6 times in all the trips we've taken.
