CRT or Akershus? ...and where to find Mickey and Minnie!

Traveling in June with our (turning) 6 and 2 year old daughters. We're doing three park days - one day each at AK, EP and MK. Right now we have an ADR for breakfast at CRT for our MK day. I'm wondering if I should do Akershus instead at EP? I think dining in the castle would be amazing for them, but it would each up time on our MK day when we'll already have to go back midday for a nap!

For what it's worth, the biggest deal to my girls is Minnie (and Mickey)! We have a Chef Mickey ADR on our departure date, which is also my oldest's birthday. Is there any other character meal that has both Mickey and Minnie? We have a Tusker House reservation, but will likely cancel.

We have never done Akershus, so i cant speak to the quality there but i can tell you that our girls, 6 and 2.5 at the time of our last trip, LOVED eating in the castle!!! There is just no comparison to being able to meet Cinderella in her castle, then go up the majestic staircase and eat in the royal room of the prettiest castle in the world! We loved it so much that we are spending another 2 dining credits to eat there again, and since we haven't gotten a ADR yet, i am checking constantly. There were so many princesses, they were so friendly and didn't feel rushed and it saved us so much time not waiting in lines to see those ladies again. 1000% would recommend!

As far as Mickey and Minnie go, the only other dining option i can think of is Minnies Dine at HS. But since that isn't one of your parks, i can see thats not an option. Otherwise, i would think Chef Mickeys is your best bet. However, there are lots of places to meet M&M throughout the parks so if you have a restaurant you would prefer instead, thats always an option. Hope you have an amazing time, the ages of your girls is pretty perfect, i think!

I have to say that I believe eating in the castle is definitely great to do but our kids love Akershus so much better. The food is much better and we had great interactions with the princesses every time we ate there. We felt very rushed when we were at the castle and the food was not good at all but that was our experience. MK is definitely a 2-3 day park so if I only had 1 day I wouldn't have an ADR for breakfast - unless it was before the park opened. Enjoy!

Akershus is really sweet with the kids. The princesses parade with the kids thru the restaurant. I love the castle, but you might should reserve that one for when the little one is a bit older and just have fun in MK that day

If this is a one and done trip you should do CRT. If you plan on doing future trips do Akershus because it is 1 credit and your younger one will probably not remember CRT on this trip. And the food is better. Outside of Chef Mickey's the best place I have found for Mickey and Minnie is the character meet & greet in Epcot.

Not Mickey and Minnie together...That is only Chef Mickey...

But you can meet Mickey at the Garden Grill, Ohana Breakfast or Tusker. You can meet Minnie at the Cape May Buffet breakfast. All are good options!

Thanks all! My oldest is the perfect age for dining in the castle as she's already starting to phase out of the princess phase. However, my two year old is just not pleasant to dine with so it may not be worth the $$ (no dining plan)!! If we end up doing two MK days and no EP then I'll keep it, otherwise, I may head the majority's advice and switch to Akershus, assuming I can get a reservation!

We definitely plan to try for a FP for Mickey and Minnie at EP! I've heard not great things about CM for food, but would love to have them together. We've done two cruises and my oldest literally went to see Minnie at least twice every single day. My youngest joined in last cruise just having turned one. Minnie is the star in our home! ;-)

We currently have a Garden Grill reservation for our EP day. Which characters are usually there with Chip and Dale? I can't seem to find anything, but heard the food is great. We will ultimately drop some reservations, especially without the dining plan...2 is enough...1 classic characters and 1 princess!

Garden Grill is Chip, Dale, Pluto, Mickey. The food is excellent. We love that the food is served family style and it is cool the way the place rotates. Great experience. You will love it!

I have to say that Akershus breakfast woudl be my choice, it is a good meal and the character interaction is excellent.

I really like Garden Grill as well.
