CRT openings while on trip?

Has anyone been lucky enough to get a reservation for the Castle breakfast (CRT) when you were actually in WDW? We had to reschedule our trip from early May to Memorial Day week and lost most of our ADR's. The only one I can't get back is CRT. I have tried every morning, afternoon, and night with no luck. I am going to continue to try, but wondered if anyone has ever gotten a reservation while actually there...

1) We walked up to CRT last Thanksgiving Day morning.
2) We had a 20-minute wait, without a ressie.

I have, but it's been a long time ago. In 2001 my mom and I went the second week of December and we walked up first thing after rope drop and were seated. It was a highlight of our trip! You should definitlely ask, all they can do is say no

I did in 2006. We got to WDW with no ADRs and after eating in the food court for dinner. Next morning we went to the dining congiering in ASMu and made ADRS for the rest of the trip. Got lucky and got CRT for the last day of our trip, someone must have just cancelled as the CM was looking. We also got Boma, Whispering Canyon and Donalds breakfast.

I'd keep on calling and then definitly walk up and check while in the park. You just never know!

We didn't take the reservation, but one rainy afternoon (around 3:00pm) in January 2007, we asked the lobby concierge desk at WL to find us an opening for dinner that evening at a MK area resort or the MK ... there was an opening for dinner at CRT at 6:00pm that night for a party of four. We almost took it just b/c it was a same day at CRT (!) ... but having already eaten there for breakfast earlier in the week, we declined and went to Crystal Palace instead.

Last month, we cancelled a CRT lunch reservation about 4 days before the scheduled date ... so, I know that they do open up occasionally.

Right at the 48 hour (or is that one 24 hours?) cancel penalty cut off there are often a few openings. Some people cancel just a few days before too.

Last Year during Memorial Weekend we were able to get a reservation there the night before (and it was even for a pre-park opening breakfast time). Hope you have the same luck
