Does anyone know when this change happens is the dinner menu changing or is it just that Cinderella will be there all day long. I am planning on making reservations tomorrow and this is our first time eating in the castle.

I just read this on Allears and was wondering what the consensus here on the Dis will be regarding this change. I have only gone for the princesses so I am not upset about this but I imagine some will be. Some folks just want a romantic dinner in the castle without characters. The demand is so ridiculous for the princesses that I suppose they figured this location would do better if it was all princesses all the time.

The change-over is set for this Sunday, Feb. 7th, so we'll have to sit tight for a few days to hear back from some actual diners.

I am excited to hear as I just snagged a dinner ressie for our upcoming March trip and it's right before Wishes, so kids are going to be so excited!!

HTH, Tiger :)

Cinderella is already there all the time, but she doesn't circulate in the dining room, she just does pictures. That won't change. What will change is that apparently circulating princesses will be present at dinner, too.

just have to ask if it is realy a good place for romanic dinning. I am looking to have a romanic meal during our trip

I wouldn't choose it, especially with circulating princesses at all meals. Per most reviews the food isn't the greatest, either. Food is not the emphasis here.

Definitely not the place for a quiet romantic dinner. We went for our 25th anniverary (1st time to the castle). The food was pretty good but service was VERY rushed. They must have to get people in and out in under an hour to acomodate the next seating. Glad we went but wouldn't rush back to do it again very soon.

I will look into romantic dinning. Although I have to ask about the coarl reef.

I would never recommend Coral Reef for a romantic dinner - it is one of the loudest restaurants on property. It is also very hit and miss service, and the food is not that great either. We've eaten here many times, but are giving it a rest as it's just so crowded and noisy.

It is pretty to eat near the aquarium, but I absolutely wouldn't recommend it for a quiet and romantic dinner.

I would second Citrico's though as it's fantastic! Tiger :)

Can someone please confirm that there are no changes being suggested for lunch? Thanks!

Okay, so basically, for lunch, it's just swapping the fairy godmother for princesses.... though that's pretty-much what the description of the meal said when we booked it in November: "Feel like royalty yourself as you interact with Disney's own princesses and princes."

The fairy godmother was never at lunch, just dinner. They're changing the name of the lunch but it will still have circulating princesses.

Will there now possibly be some of the male characters as well at dinner (i.e., Aladdin, Prince Charming, etc.)? If so my boys would love this. If not, no big deal. We decided on dinner at the castle long before I heard there would be princesses circulating there at dinner when we go this summer, we are just going because my son really wants to eat in the castle! (OK, I do too, I will admit that!).

It should make it easier to get ADRs. I have never got one - DD is now 7 and no longer intrested in the princesses, save for the occasional autograph!

This is what should be done. They have so many meals triggered towards just girls, what about boys? I have a DD, no boys, I often wonder why there are no Pirate lunches or Pixar Dinners or Hero breakfasts somewhere in the World.

Many many years ago I ate at the castle (when I was probably 10) and my mom SOMEHOW snagged a reservation the night before for breakfast and it was Peter Pan, Snow White, Pooh, etc. they were very random characters.

I could understand them wanting a princess meal at the castle but maybe have the breakfast be solely princesses and then maybe lunch and dinner be some characters that are geared towards boys.

I think my DS would like seeing some of the princes. My poor DS has to sit through princess meals for his sisters but there is nothing really geared towards boys. There is the Mickey and Stitch meals and thats cool but a pirate one would be great or a toy story one. Both my DDs and DS would be happy at the meals then.

Both my sons are fine with seeing princesses. They are very young. My older one is 5 and my little one will be 3 in May. I told them that they will see some princesses at our dinner at the castle and they got excited, and they said that will be great for their cousins (girls) who will be with us. We are all also going to the lunch in Norway at Epcot and the boys are excited about that too. They love the movies Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. This may be the only trip I manage to get them to go to 2 princess meals...next time we go they will be 5 and 7, so maybe just a castle meal and that's it (because it's the castle). DH and I are interested in the food in Norway (love trying new things, and the menu looks great), and this year we can get away with it and the boys will enjoy it too!

I also wish they had some sort of Pixar character meal or something, but my sons do enjoy eating with the classic characters too! It would also be nice to have a superhero meal...doesn't Disney own Marvel now? Oh well, maybe some day!
