We'll be in WDW for our 15th anniversary on 8 Jan, and I want to do dinner at the castle with DH & DDs to celebrate. The question is... at what time?

I've read that the dining room's atmosphere is 'made' by the beautiful windows so should we have an early dinner starting in daylight hours, so that the sunlight is shining through? Or, do we make the reservation for as late as possible so that we can walk down a far less crowded main street, with a more relaxing atmosphere, on the way out? We'll have about 8 days in the parks, so using up time at CRT during opening hours wouldn't be a problem.

What would you do???

I've done December anniversary dinners at CRT on two occasions. Each time we tried to be seated before the start of the fireworks. Both times my wife and I were seated at a window table so we had a good view of the shows.

If you do try this make sure that you get to the CRT check in desk before the CMs rope of the area behind Cinderella Castle in anticipation of the fireworks show.

Thanks Macman752 - how long before the show was your ADR for, and how long before your ADR did you get to the CRT check-in desk?

Does anyone know how long before the show that the area behind the castle is roped off?

Also, are there tables to seat 4 by the windows? Our two DDs will be joining us (they love a 'special dinner' as much as us). In fact our 'usual' anniversary dinner is usually done by them - the cooking (and cleaning even), the table laid out with flowers and candles, and they love waiting on us and pouring drinks. So this time, they'll get the night off (and enjoy the magic of Disney with us).

Last December our dinner reservation was for 7:40. The CMs starting roping off the area around 7:15. We checked in at CRT around 7:20 without any problem. We just had to wait downstairs for the 20 minutes or so until our table was ready.

I can't remember the exact time the fireworks started but in don't think it was later than 9:00.

I'm not sure if there are any tables of 4 at the windows.
