CRT and the french toast.

I went to CRT two weeks ago. We had the cream cheese french toast and it was good but it had apples and a sauce on top. I was a little shocked because I have not heard any of you say anything about the apples. I have seen the recipe for the french toast and it does not say anything about the apples either.

I have not been to CRT's before so I don't know. For any of you who have eaten there before is this the same french toast? Has anyone else had it with apples and a sauce on top? Thanks for letting me know. I am just very curious.

The first time we went there in May 2000, it did not have any sauce on top and they brought syrup. I really liked it a lot then. When we went back in August 01, it had fruit and sauce and they did not bring out any syrup.
I asked the waiter if I could have some without the fruit and sauce and if he could bring out some syrup. The waiter did, but looked at my like I had spinach stuck between my teeth or something. I may be an uncivilized hillbilly, but that is the way I prefer it.
Next time you go, you might see if you could have them do it for you also. Just be forewarned about snobby waitstaff.
