Love the acronyms around here ;)

I booked an ADR earlier this morning online for CRT
I have a DVC reservation and have added and paid for the dining plan.

However, when booking the reservation despite having logged in and provided my confirmation number at the beginning of the process I was asked for a credit card number. I understand a cc # to guarantee the reservation but the process looked very much like I was paying in full.
I should not be required to pay in full since I'm on the dining plan.
Does the process look the same for paying and simply guaranteeing? And my card won't be charged since I am on the dining plan?

Thanks in advance!!

Hard to say - you need to check your CC to see. Sometimes the online system doesn't correctly connect your DDP with your reservation for CRT. So you might have been charged in full. If that is the case, you can either cancel that reservation for a refund and then call on the phone to make a new one, or you can leave it as is, and get a credit back to your CC at the restaurant and use your dining credits instead.

None of that is related to having a DVC reservation - it's the same across the board.

For what it's worth....

I called the DIS Dining number later in the day, the CM assured me that although it looked like I was being charged, if I had the dining plan it was for guarantee only, not a charge.
I do see online at my cc co website that the full amount was authorized on my credit card - we'll see if it settles as a charge in the next 2 days - in which case I'll call back.

Final update.

My CC was indeed charged.

I called today. They can only cancel the reservation for the refund to go through so the CM first found another time, only 10 minutes later and secured that before cancelling the one I was charged for - thus a refund will happen to my CC. She was then able to give me the 815am with just the cc to secure since she could see what the online system couldn't - I'm on the dining plan.

Then, after all that was done I asked if by chance we get try to get the 8:05am back. I know, I know it's only 10 minutes but I like the idea of having the first reservation of the day. And sure enough, much to her surprise (it's never happened before) she found the 8:05 and changed me to that one with my new reservation.

Yippeee
