This will be our first Thanksgiving at Disney. I would like to know what to expect for crowd levels for the week at the parks. It is so busy you can't move or is it pretty managable? Any input will be great. We usually go in early Feb. or early Oct., but this year we thought we would try the Thanksgiving holiday away.
Thanks, Darlene

We were at WDW in November, 2001. We arrived the Friday prior to Thanksgiving and left the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The crowds were very light Friday-Tuesday. On Wednesday, more people began arriving, though. Still, the crowds really weren't that bad. Early entry was discontinued at that time, but we still got to the parks at opening and made good use of Fastpass. We really enjoy Thanksgiving at Disney and will be there again November 21-29. Can't wait!!!

We were there for Thanksgiving last year (2002). We're leaving home on the day after Thanksgiving this year. Does that answer the question?? It was very crowded last year and we were 12 people in all...it was very hard to keep track of everyone. The Monday after the holiday the place cleared out. That's why we decided to move our trip up abit. Also, the Christmas decorations go up Thanksgiving evening and you'll get the double enjoyment of seeing Disney at it's finest. No matter when you go, you'll have a great time. If you haven't already, make your Thanksgiving dinner reservations as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

We'll be a family of 6 with 2 of us being vegetarians, my mom and daughter. I have just now started to look for a restaurant to make dinner resv. for us. I would like to find a good buffet that all of us will be satisfied with.
Oh, we'll be at Disney 11/20-11/28.

Darlene....the Cape May Restaurant in the Yacht & Beach Club Resort has a clambake buffet with a child's section. The food consists of mussels, steamed little necks ( these are called clams by people who have never had soft shell steamers ) salmon, peel 'n eat shrimp, a full salad bar and meat for those carnivors. Do a search on this web site for restaurants and you should be able to pull up their menu. I don't think that it varies but it might, for Thanksgiving. Good Luck!!

Snowgooseltd that sounds so good. I'll try to find the menu online. We are big seafood eaters.

Darlene....I figured you might be when I saw Maine under your ID. We're in Massachusetts and every trip to WDW includes a stop at the Cape May. We'll be arriving the day you leave and staying for 16 days so we may hit it more than once. The price is more than reasonable for the type of buffet they offer. Let me know how you make out!

Snowgooseltd, I told my husband about the buffet the Cape May offers and it looks like we'll be giving it a try. Also I can have the chance to check out the resort while we are there. It looks awesome.
