crowds the week before Memorial holiday??

we're back to Orlando in May next year and are planning on doing Universal on the Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd (Memorial day is Monday 25th).

Are those days likely to be packed busy? Just wondering if its worth booking a hotel room to get the FOTL passes rather than buying them which works out more for 2 days at the parks.

also any tips on the cheapest way to book a room at one of the hotels that gets the FOTL passes?

It will be busy but not overly so...not until the actual weekend days. If you can afford it, stay onsite and you'll get unlimited Express access during your stay. I think AAA and AP get the best discounts.
