Crowds were low all weekend, even though it was nice weather. Sunday got a little busier, but we still walked on most things, waited a little bit for the indy speedway, pirates but that's about it. Friday afternoon MGM was EMPTY. We got there just after the parade started, got a front row seat for it right at the front of the park.

Little Ones early hour was awesome, so many characters, we went on all the rides twice in a row.

Also, day of I was able to get seats at Crystal for dinner at a perfect time

FYI, I found Pal Mickey to be useless. Rarely buzzed, just told us a basic thing about the area we were entering, never did tell us anything on interest. Son didn't care about it at all. Its going on ebay.

Contemporary was nice -- new rooms are VERY nice. Character b-fast at CHef Mickey's was SO worth it.

Glad to hear there are low crowds. My dear friends from church arrived yesterday and I was hoping they would have low crowds.

Thanks for the crowd report! Still sounding great for this week!! We are leaving first thing in the AM!!!! Whoo hooo!!

Did it rain at all? I am so worried about the weather this time of year.

andrewsmommy -
We leave for CR in 2 days!!!!
Can you tell me if you got a refurb room and where is was located?
How was your Mousekeeping, the pool, the Food & Fun Center ?
We have never stayed at CR before any info would be great!!!!!

Thanks

I live in Orlando and have been over to the parks the past two Sundays. Crowds are heavenly....we love this time of the year here! Most waits are less than 20 minutes. We did see Everest get up to 50 minutes, but we were able to ride it twice in the four hours we were over there utilizing fast pass. The safari was never over 20 minutes. Tough to be a Bug was 5 minutes. Walked on Dinosaur. Wonderful weather with just the possibility of summertime afternoon storms. Last week ToT and RnRR were walk-ons in the middle of the afternoon. Soarin was 10 minutes. If you're coming down now you'll have a great time!

It rained a bit on Friday night, but we were at dinner/on the monorail for it. Nothing too bad or too long. Then it spritzed on and of for a while Saturday evening, but nothing worth getting a poncho out for or anything.

All the tower rooms are renovated, we were told. South wing looks renovated, but that's just the guess from the outside. North wing has not been renovated, I hear rumor it is to be torn down to make villas.

We were on 10th floor, nice and quiet. Actually noise even on 4 didn't seem too bad. MK View was awesome, we watched the fireworks from the bed (it was too loud for my son on the balcony, but he loved it from inside.)

Mousekeeping was fine, didn't get turndown (do you have to ask?) and they called to bug us to get out of our room at 3 so they could clean (but they did so nicely) My son was napping so they waited a bit. DIdn't do the pool (little disappointed that the shallowest is 3' deep -- too deep for DS3) F&F Center was adequate, didn't do the arcade, got lunch there once. CHeck-in was a breeze. CMs very nice.

One thing we did which I really liked was on the last day after we checked out but still had some time to kill before our bus, we took the boat from the Contemporary to the Wilderness Lodge for lunch. Whispering Canyon was a riot and it was a nice ride around the island too.

Just a general warning -- the love bugs are out in full force (literally, bugs that are in mating season right now) They don't bite or anything but are annoying. Not so much in the parks, but outside in general.

Interesting comment on Pal Mickey.....we were there for Easter this April and had the "Disney Bunny" deliver a Pal Mickey in the kids basket while we were there ( a very cool service SSR and other resorts provided!! :thumbsup2 ).
This was a replacement Pal Mickey from our April and Oct 2004 trips which our dog decided to "play" with while Mickey rested on my daughters bed... :sad2:
Anyway...the PalMickey from our 2004 trips seemed to talk and react at every corner of all the parks...it became our familes running joke as to how much he would communicate with us. The new Pal Mickey this year did not seem to be a "lively"...I dont know if he was not a sensitive or if there are less sensors out and about WDW..
The kids enjoyed the trivia games you could play with him while on the monorail and other down times....but the novelty of random message while strolling the parks wore out soon......probably not worth the $75 he cost, but it is another Disney trip memory
