Crowds - Sat-Wed before Thanksgiving Day or 1st 2 wks Dec. & best HRH rate for then?

I can't get into the search function, and I need some information, so please help me out. MY DH has just decided that we need to make a trip to US/IOA, since we recently received some airline vouchers that will cover a lot of the airfare.

I need to decide when to go. Since we're both off all of Thanksgiving week, if we go then we won't have to miss any work. I have Saturday - Wednesday in mind. How are the crowds then?

If they aren't bad, staying offsite will save us money, and we can get a suite that way. If we stay at the HRH, how much is it probably going to cost us?

Also, will the Christmas decorations be up then (very important to me)?

If the crowds are pretty bad (and the hotel is high and the decorations aren't up), he said that he would rather wait until the next week or the next one (but before the Christmas crowds start). We can miss a couple of days of work without too much trouble. Are the crowds very slim then? I know they used to be small at WDW the first 2 weeks of Dec., but I haven't been that time of year in quite awhile.

Thanksgiving day is generally not a busy day. It's the weekend after Turkey Day that will be busy. Then crowds are light from the last week of November to the 2nd week of December. The mother of all crowds occur during Christmas and New Year's week. Christmas decorations are usually up around Thanksgiving.
