I too would like to know the answer to this. We are going to be at MK on May 1st. We can't change because we are going down to watch our high school band march down Main St. Hope it isn't too crazy.
I will be in Disney the same time too. I have tried to avoid MK on these days, but since there are possible events for more than one day, I couldn't entirely. I was in the MK December 2012 when New Fantasyland officially opened. I wouldn't say that the media events then necessarily brought more crowds in, but it was a nuisance bc there were cameras and party tables being set up and rides were closing early and things were blocked off and signs about time closures weren't even correct and it got pretty aggravating. I kinda got into a "I paid to be here" rant to my husband but what can you really do?
