Is it true that crowds are generally bigger at the parks that are having Extra Magic Hour that morning? To me it seems like a fraction of the people visiting a park actaully stay on grounds, so I can't imagine it makes that big of a difference. Any experiences??

Thanks

It does make a difference. You'd be surprised at the amount of people that do stay on the property and can easily get to the parks early. For some reason, people are drawn to early entry mornings like little flies to those zapping lights. They think that since its opening early, getting there early will benefit them, but it ends up being more crowded than they thought and they can't get on as many rides as they wanted, as everyone else had the same idea. Thus, best to stay away from early entry, it hurts more than it helps you.

I was always a big fan of early entry until this summer. In June we did EE at MK and MGM and were very disappointed in the number of rides we could do in the first hour and throughout the morning. We always left and went to another park around noon. So in July we did the day after EE at MK and found we did so much more by noon than we had in June even with an extra hour. I asked a couple of CMs at the MK and they said EE days are the most crowded at MK even first thing in the morning. I don't plan on doing EE during the summer again. I'm not sure about off season when the parks close early. I might need that extra hour to satisfy my Disney addiction. :p
