we normally go in May but with the kids getting older it's harder to pull them from school so we are thinking of going in July this year. What are the crowds like that time of year. I know it's going to be HOT and I'm going to hate it but there is nothing we can do we have to go in the summer.

We go every year at the end of July and there are a lot of people there, but if you plan your days right, you can have a great trip. We always do!
We always utilize early EMH and make it to the park by rope drop. We do everything we want to do by lunch time and then go back to the hotel and swim or nap. Later, we go back when it cools off if we missed something during the day. The crowds usually don't get super bad until around lunch time.

July is not only the hottest, but also one of the busiest and most expensive times to go to Disney World.

We always go in July or August. It's crowded, but we have always had a great time. Don't automatically assume that you will hate it. I would stay onsite, just because it's easier to take breaks. I have always managed to get a great deal during the summer too.

We started going in the summer also, because of school. And sometimes it's hot, but I haven't really noticed the crowds being larger. Disney does a good job of accomodating their attendence. You might use the resort pools more; not a bad thing with school age kids.

We've been in both May and July and the difference is HUGE!!!! I seem to remember May being sunny and not at all humid. Crowds fine and quesues pretty short (around 4 or 5 on the dis planners).
We had a lovely time in July but the heat/humidty are off the scale. Very crowded and queues very very long, most days were a 9 or 10 (on the busy scale). We got mos things done in the end but only *** we were there for 3 weeks (honeymoon!!).:upsidedow

I am going at the end of June and I know it will be hot and humid and the crowds will be much higher then when we have gone in the past (Nov, May) I know this and since my kids are older its too hard for them to miss school so we are making the sacrifice. Do we have to go to WDW for our vacation? Well of course not but we love it so we will take the good with the bad but I am sure we will have a great time!:thumbsup2

We once had a July trip and my husband asked me never to do a July trip for him again! The heat and humidity were intense, even in the evenings at the fireworks. We had spent the first week at the Vero Beach resort, and it was so warm, including the pool water, that people were using the outdoor shower that had much cooler water to cool off. Thankfully, there was also the option of the ocean. But once we got to WDW, we really felt the heat and humidity which was amplified by the crowds. We love the months of March and November, but I can understand the school situation with family, which we no longer have to address. Best of luck!

One of my favorite times to go, I love the heat. Crowds are the same pretty much year round now at WDW, for the most part.

We went in July 2009and July 2010 and we are going again this July. DH is a teacher so we really dont have too much of a choice as to when to go. It is hot, I am not going to lie, but we managed really well. We brought water fans with us from walmart, a stroller fan, cooler with water and planned the day as well as we could with two little kids. My little guy fell asleep in the stroller with the fan every day for almost 2 hrs. We found a shade spot and I would people watch then DH and I would switch off. It can be done. As far as the crowds, being there in the am is key. Growing up we (DH too) only went during Easter or Presidents Day week. So July crowds are not as bad as I thought they would be. Taking your time and not putting too much pressure on yourself is very important. We go to DW now for the kids, we go at their speed. We havent made it to a rope drop yet and were alway able to do everything we wanted and more every day. :goodvibes
Enjoy whenever you go!

We are also going in July and I have friends trying to talk be out of it because of the crowds. He claims that he was only able to ride 4 rides in a day.......we have only been peak times....spring break and Thanksgiving so I don't think it will be a huge difference to us right :confused3 and I know we can get in more then 4 rides.
People keep telling me about the heat like I don't know Florida in July/August would be hot:laughing:
BUT like others said I am in school trying to finish my degree and the kids are in school not all times are open to us:confused3so trying to squeezed it in this summer on my birthday:wizard:
