My husband and I were thinking of surprising the kids with a trip to Disneyland when they have break in March. They have the 14th - 18th off and there seems to be a lot of availability. Are the crowds too bad at that time? We had a GAC when we went in October due to my daughter's Autism so I'm not as worried about wait times, but if the park is really crowded the noise and people get overwhelming for her. Thanks in advance for any replies :)

Have you seen this poll? It looks like March 14-18 has the 2nd highest response for when kids have their Spring Break.

I didn't see that poll Bob, thanks for posting it. I guess we'll skip March and stick to our original plan of the first week of December. Thanks for answering.

One problem with this poll is that it doesn't relate to where the people are from. Most on Disboards go to WDW rather than Disneyland. Here is a sample listing of spring break for school districts that would effect crowds at Disneyland.

Anaheim High Schools April 4th-8th
Anaheim Elementary March 29th-April 7th (Varies by school)
Most Orange County year round schools have April off
Los Angeles School District April 18th-22nd

There are numerous other school districts in Southern California and Phoenix which impact Disneyland crowds. Spring break varies widely for each between March and April.

I agree with the pp. It won't be empty but I really think spring break will be spread out this year. Our district has a 2 week spring break (March 14th-25th). We are in Northern CA as well - Brentwood in Eastern Contra Costa county.

We are planning on taking our 7 yr old son during this time. We are going March 12 - 15th.

He also has autism and we use a GAC, which of course makes all the difference in the world. :)

cccdisney. We'll also be there during the same time. Our son also has autism. I understand we have to bring a Drs. note to guest services to get a GAC. What exactly is a GAC?

I don't mean to hijack, but the week before... (4th-9th) seems a little early for spring break, yes? Should the crowds be better then??
