Hi
My son and his girlfriend are going to Universal on the 19th of May. How are the crowds now? He was thinking about buying the pass that lets you skip the line and go to the front, but he said it's $30.00 and he doesn't know if it's worth it. Any advice would be great, since we haven't been to Universal in years. Thanks!!

If they are going on a Monday, they should be fine without the Express pass. The crowds won't start getting thicker until Memorial Day weekend. Just tell them to get there early and they could do the bigger attractions with not much of a wait.

Crowds could be heavier than normal in May with the Simpson's ride open, but weekdays are less busy than weekends. The price for the express pass at the park should be the same as online, so I suggest waiting until he arrives to decide. If the rides are showing long wait times, he can buy the EP while in the park if he feels the need!

We always go in May. The weather is not too hot, it's past spring break but before a lot of schools get out. We've never had an issue with crowds. But as others have posted, without the FOTL, go as early as possible and do the more popular rides when you get to the park.

Weekends get the flood of locals.

We went the week before Memorial Day in 2006, and the crowds weren't bad at all.

I would have been very annoyed if I had bought a Fast pass for Universal today! Most rides only had a max wait of 20/30 mins (The Mummy, Simpsons) And lesser attractions like ET, we boarded at same time as fast passes.
By 5pm most were almost walk on.
May be different tomorrow when we go to IOA. We'll soon see!

I agree, at 10:30 yesterday morning we literally walked right onto the Mummy. As we got to the ride, we didn't even pause, there were 2 seats with the lap bars up, almost as if they were waiting for Sherry and I. So of course we rode it again immediately :thumbsup2
