crowds in early May?

We're planning a trip for early May 2009 and I'm just wondering how the crowd situation will be. We've always visited in the summer (with crazy crowds!) and then had the most wonderful experience traveling in September. We were so spoiled! I don't think we would ever travel during the high crowd seasons again! We can't go in Sept. for this next trip, so I thought that May would be a good month. Any opinions?

I always go mid May (arrive between 16-19) and we stay until a day or two after memorial day. The crowds are very very low until the two days before memorial day. I think the longest we waited was about 40 minutes, but that was for Soarin in the prime time to ride it. Our average wait time was about 10-15 minutes. Very pleasant and the weather was hot, but beautiful (very little rain and in the high 80s up to mid 90s sometimes). I would not want to go at any other time.

We have been in many times in early May. It has always been a great time to go. The crowds are not bad at all. Like the poster above stated. It can get pretty hot. Not as hot as Sept though. Just noticed your location. If you have been in Sept you will find May to your liking.

It's my first post ever... We are also thinking of going in May 2009. We took our first trip there Jan 1-7, 2008. It was so crowded the first two days and then got much better...so cold though. I'm glad to hear that mid May is not too crowded. We are debating between the 2nd full week or the 3rd week, leaving the Saturday before Memorial Day.

You really can't go wrong on either weeks. We will be going again this May the first or second week. The later in the month the warmer it will get. This past May we had temps up to 93 some days.

We were at Disney in early May this year and it wasn't bad at all. Max wait time on the more popular lines was never more than 10-15 minutes.
