I'm planning my trip for Aug. '03. I know that is value season for the deluxes. My question is...how hard is it to get a good rate for this time period? Is it so popular that they go really fast? I'm looking to split my visit between ASsp and the Poly...3 or 4 nights at each. Would it be a good idea to get ressies early this fall and keep checking on the discounts as they are posted and change accordingly?? I may even get an AP to get a lower rate. In other words.....HELP!!

They had good discounts for this August but I didn't call in time to get one. I am thinking I will just get the AP and then the discount will cover the cost of the pass. In January they will have discount and then after the Spring break time they should post some sort of discounts. Iwould check occasionally back at this site. Everyone here is very generous with any info we get concerning discounts. August has been traditionally a good time frame to get some discount on your hotel at least.

I am staying at the Polynesian this August and I didnt make my reservations until about 2 months ago. I got it for a good price through Disney's Summer Saver program...and I had no problems what-so-ever with getting a room. Sometimes it pays to wait.
:)

I just got reservations at WL for a very good rate also for August (with a FL resident special). I'm not sure if the rates are higher in early August or if the discounted rates are less available because this is a more popular time. I know at one time Peak season went til mid August but that may have changed.

If you're really set on dates and a specific resort I would go ahead and book it when you can at the AP rate and then see if a discounted rate comes up on it. If you can get the discount you want have some alternative resorts in mind, there really are many nice ones.

Splitting stays between resorts is always a personal preference. If I were staying for a week at a time I would consider staying at an MK resort for one half (like the POLY) and an EPCOT resort for the other half (like S/D). It kinda really gives you an "all around the world" visit.

Thanks for the insights. Think I'll go ahead and book early fall and then keep looking for better rates. I love the planning part.:sunny:
