Crowds end of Feb./early march? Newbie help

Crowd calendar is saying low, but onsite hotel rates are around $250+. We will be there Feb. 28 - March 3. What is going on then to drive rates up? This is a last minute trip (I'm a planner, so three months out is last minute to me!) and I am trying to decide our best option. Thinking about booking one of the off-site HP packages for the early entry, but would prefer onsite, but not at $1300 for two of us since we have a big Disney trip scheduled for October.

There are no holidays during those days that would make the rates go up. I'm thinking maybe there's a convention or something during that time?
