What are the crowds like the week of the Disney Golf Classic in October?

We are arriving the weekend prior to golf tournament and staying through the entire week. We're not coming for the tournament - it is our 10th wedding anniversary.

I guess WDW is throwing a big golf blow-out for our anniversary.

We were there the final weekend of the golf classic in 1992 and it was packed - peak summer-time like crowds. There was also a national dentists' convention that weekend at the Contemporary which may have contributed to the congestion.

But we have also been at WDW the same weekend of the Disney IRL race and there were very few crowds at all.

BTW, we have preferred view reservations at our home at BWV (requested and hope to get BW view).

Thanks.

We went to WDW at the end of the golf classic last year and the crowds we OK, not very heavy. We saw some of the tourn. and the crowds around the holes near the GF were crowded but that did not seem to affect MK or the other parks. We enjoyed seeing some golf and going to the parks. I would go back that time of year again because the weather is great.

We are coming for the Tournament but will attend the WDW anniversary bash. By coming for the tournament, I mean we will spend one day watching the action - Friday or Saturday depending on the weather. We were are the tournament two years ago and thought that the crowds might have been a little bigger than one might expect during the fall. They certainly were nowhere near summer or holiday size. The tournament itself was not heavily populated, we got to see Tiger, Duval, Love, VJ, etc. up close and personal. At one green (I can't remember which one) there were only about 25 of us in the gallery. It is a nice tournament. If you like golf or just want to spend a quiet day walking a beautiful golf course - I recommend giving it a try

We're going in Oct. but I was only aware of the Walt's bday celebration; something at MGM. And the International Food and Wine Festival at Epcot I believe starts the 20th...

My dad's bday and mine will be during our stay...when and to whom should I mention this to for some possible magic?

Here we go...........

The WDW official site says Thursday-Sunday, October 18-22 for the actual tournament. The PGA tour site says practice rounds will be Monday-Weds, October 15-17.

We tried to book the Chef's table at V&A for our 10th anniversary on the 19th, but were told it was blocked out for a special event. I suspect maybe something related to the tourny. But we DID manage to book the Chef's table for the night before, October 18th. So we get to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the rehearsal dinner.

We have been to WDW several times during the golf tournement. As long as you stay away from the SOG area, you will not be bothered. Sometimes they limit watercraft near the golf course. Also some of the restaurants at DTD may be more crowded than usual. However, the crowds in general have been getting heavier during October. It seems more people are going in October than years past. The food and wine festeval at Epcot also helps to draw bigger crowd.

We have been at WDW several times during the golf classic. Never noticed an increase in crowds. I guess we will be there this year too.

We are scheduled to be on the Magic 10/13 - 10/20.
we will be at OKW for the 3 days following.

By the way, our 10th anniversary is also on the 19th :)

Denine says, "By the way, our 10th anniversary is also on the 19th"

Our first trip together to WDW was on our 1st anniversary, but as you can see below we have been back a few times.

Congratulations on your 10th, too. ;)

We have spent many an anniversary in Disney. It feels weird if we are not in Disney for our anniversary.
